Yeah…I don't really wish I was smaller, I like being tall. :) And @Abigail - tall women can be feminine too! I was kind of just joking. xP If you know about them, think about the Campbell ladies - Nancy and her daughters Pearl and Serene. (You know, Pearl and Serene authored Trim Healthy Mama.) And they're all very tall - over 6', I think. Yet they are very feminine. :)

That verse is so true, and yet it can be so hard to live that out all the time. :

To always live in the fear of God and not what other people think. We are fearfully and wonderfully made - so complex that no scientist could ever make a duplicate! Sure, we should take care of our bodies (for they are the temples of the Holy Spirit, and we should take good care of what God has given us), but we shouldn't complain about the way He made us. :)

^Just my two cents, not saying that to anyone in particular - just a little clarification there. :)^

You don't like bugs?! Well, I must admit that I don't like some bugs, but I do like a few. I like honeybees, and bumblebees, praying mantises, and walking sticks, and yes, I like to handle praying mantises and walking sticks. I've even handled a hissing cockroach before, which is a giant cockroach. :-) Praying mantises may be my favorite. I also like butterflies and moths. :-)
Are you reading any good books at the moment? I'm reading a book right now called "Beyond the Desert Gate" and it's pretty good. I'm also reading another book called "Lessons from a Sheep Dog" by Phillip Keller, and it's pretty good too.

Oh, I'll have to look those books up. I and my sisters are reading a book together entitled "Peter's Angel". Other than that though, no I haven't been reading any books. =\ I need to start reading more.

No, I don't have any pets and never have. My mom's favorite pet is the non-exsistent pet. :P When I was younger I always wanted a pet, but now I don't.

Hmm…it kinda depends on my mood. I like to write historical fiction, though. Do you like to write? If so, what do you like to write?

Hope you and your family are doing well. :-)
Yes, I do like to write. I've been writing in the same story for years now; it's kind of a fantasy/science fiction like "Lord of the Rings", if you could compare it to that. I'm still working on the first draft. :-)
I also play a musical instrument; I play a fiddle. My dad is teaching me how to play old-time fiddle, and I like it. :-)
Favorite thing about where I live….hmmmm. I don't really know. I like it here, I just don't know what exactly it is that I like best. I've been here all my life, in the exact same house. I don't know that I've ever really thought about it. Have you ever moved?
By the way, in April we went through Kansas City on the way to Nebraska to visit some relatives. :-) I think that was before I knew about the forums.
Do you play classical piano? If so, what tunes? I played piano at one time, and I played bits and pieces of "Fur Elise", "Canon", "Nearer My God to Thee", and stuff like that; my mom started teaching me "Music-Box Dancer" too. I didn't stick with it, though.

Yes, I have moved…a total of six times. I was born in Arizonia, then we moved to Kansas and now we live in Missouri. And we've moved several times in each state. Really, that's so neat!!! If you ever pass through again let me know! :)

Classical piano…as in playing classical music… Well, I can play some pieces but not very many. :) Oh, fun! :)

IKR? At least it was a scorpion that it's stinger was cut off. But it was still dreadful. xP I shrieked and jumped up and jumped around, shaking my clothes so it would get off of me. I jumped any time someone came up behind me when I was on the computer for a long time after that. xP Like the time Bethany called and Matthew held the phone to my ear? I squealed that time too. xP

Sorry it took me so long to write back; to say that things have been busy lately is putting it mildly.
Yes, I like to write a lot. I've been writing in the same story for about eight years now (but I've never actually finished it, and I tend to go through on-and-off periods). I like writing fantasy/science-fiction the best (science-fiction like "The Lord of the Rings", not aliens in outer space). :-) I tried writing about aliens-in-outer-space style before, but I felt kinda silly doing it, so I quit. I feel much more comfortable writing about castles, dragons, and swords than space ships, laser-guns, and aliens. :-)
Yes, I play old-time fiddle. My dad is teaching me how, and I like it a lot. I've learned my thirteenth tune now. :-) I started playing again almost a year ago now. (I looked up the exact date, but I can't remember exactly what it is). :-) If I remember correctly, you play piano, right?
Favorite things about where I live. Hmmmmmmm. We have some really huge trees in our front yard. The mountains around here are really neat, too. The bird life around here is also nice. We also see deer on our property fairly often. They're not afraid of us, and they have left their babies behind the feed barn, and left them for us to keep an eye on them, I guess. They came back for them later. :-)
No, I've never moved. I've lived in this same house all my life. :-)
Dad found a huge black rat snake in the goose barn the night before last. It was as long as I am tall (5'2"). That is the second snake we've come across in a short amount of time. Speaking of snakes, they're having a snake show at the state-park tomorrow. We might go. :-) Maybe they'll let me play with a hog-nose! :-)
Have you been reading any good books lately? We're now reading a book called "Poor Little Short-Legged Ethel", and it's pleasant. It's not really a story as much as the author's memories of her life during her childhood in the great depression. She lived on a farm in Michigan.

Sorry that I replied twice to one of your posts and failed to reply to the latest one. You must forgive the bears of very little brain in the crowd. :-)
My brother lives fifteen minutes to the north of us, and my sister and her family live an hour and fifteen minutes to the south of us. :-)
Yes, we did go to the snake show. I was hoping that he would have a hog-nose, but he didn't. All he had was a black rat snake and an albino corn snake. The corn snake was very tame; it tried to go up my shirt. :-)
We went to my first farmer's market yesterday. It was supposed to be a poultry swap, and one guy did have a variety of chickens he was trying to sell, and another had baby quail, but that was about it as far as poultry went. The same guy that was selling baby quail was selling quail eggs, too. I bought a green ball-point pen, and we bought some plants. :-)
Are you done with "The Boy Colonel" yet? (Never heard of that one, by the way.) We just finished a book last night called "A Father's Promise" by Donnalynn Hess, I think was the author's name, and it was pretty good. I'm reading another one now called, "The Suffering of Man and the Sovereignty of God" by C. H. Spurgeon, and it's pretty neat so far. My first book by Spurgeon, as far as I know. :-)

I hate to jump in, but I read "A Father's Promise" by Donnalynn Hess a few years ago for school and enjoyed it very much! =)
What did you think of it?
I personally liked how it was historical fiction, and also how greatly God worked in Rudy's life, to grow and mature him in his faith in the midst of such danger and suffering.

Well, here is what I have written about our trip. Enjoy! :D

Thursday, June 26, we drove the last three hours to the get together at Sarah's Grandparents house. We arrived at 11:00 and met Mr. and Mrs. Bertram, Sarah, Peter and Rebecca. Then about 11:30 the Alexanders and Martins arrived. So we went outside and talked with them for a bit. Sarah had prepared Bible name tags for everybody that you had to wear on your back. Then you had to figure out who you were by asking other people questions about it. I don't remember who everybody was but I was Miriam. I figured it out very quickly. We stood around and talked for a bit then we all played Apples to Apples. At about 1:00 the Walley's arrived. Sarah went out and met them then she came and held the door for them. Seth walked in first and was about to start saying hello to everybody when he saw us. His jaw dropped and he said "Bethany!? Carissa!? Amy!? What are you doing here?!?!" It was amazing. xD After he got over the shock of us being there we all stood and talked a bit more then we had lunch. After lunch we all went outside and played an unofficial game of volleyball. Then we went and took group pictures and talked. Then we had ice cream for dessert and stood around talking about several different things. Around 4:00 we left along with the Alexander's. It took us about two hours to get to their house where we had dinner and then played soccer outside. After having a family Bible time we played some games till after midnight.

(I can also post about the other days if you like but I didn't know if any of y'all would like that…so unless some of you ask I shall just put Thursday and Saturday.)

Saturday morning we had breakfast and then waited till 10:00 for when the Wright's and Elliott's were supposed to arrive. I was very nervous about actually meeting Sam. So I paced and watched the clock and paced and watched the clock and so on. I told Bethany that I would hide upstairs when the Elliotts came but quickly abandoned that idea when she told me she'd have Sam come upstairs and find me. But Rosie almost did have to pull me downstairs when the Wright's arrived. :PThe Wright's arrived about 10:15 and we all sat outside and talked while waiting for the Elliotts. I was sitting against on the porch closest to the door. We talked about lots of things including what we should do when the Elliotts arrived. Some people wanted me to stand at the end of the driveway and wave as they pulled in but I did not want to do that. So we decided to all sit with straight faces and then when Sam walked onto the porch say "It's about time." Some time after 11:00 the Elliotts arrived. So, we all sat as decided and when Sam walked onto the porch we all said it. And he said "You all suck." Then he walked inside without acknowledging any of us. We all followed him and stood around talking a little bit till it was lunch time. We went through the line and then went outside to sit. As I was walking to a table to sit down Sam tried to come up behind me and surprise me but I saw him out of the corner of my eye before he could do that. I was at one table and Sam sat across from me at another table. We all talked and told lots of jokes. Then Sam sneaked up behind me and slashed me with one of his swords. To which I facedesked and started laughing. We were all quite surprised. He then said "You're being boring. And we both know we'll regret it when we go home. So you have to do a sword fight with me." I sat there and kept saying "Really?! Seriously?!" And Sam kept saying, "Yes, really, seriously." So I got up and took the sword. I had no clue what I was doing so I stood there and kept asking what I should do. To which Sam said "Don't make me think you're a fool. Cause you're not" and "This is what makes me ask if you're really fifteen." Christian came over and demonstrated for me what I should do. Then Sam kept hitting me with the sword till I did a sword fight with him. Then we played kickball. After that was finished he went and sat down and I went and started swinging on one of the swings. He got up and came over and started tickling my feet. So I jumped off and walked away from him after constantly trying to kick him away (which is hard to do when you're swinging and Sam is determined to tickle your feet). But instead of getting "rid" of him he just followed me around the yard. He made me stop walking away from him when he said "I want to talk to you and I can't do that when you're more than three feet away." So, I stopped and after getting over how short I felt next to him we stood and talked. We asked questions back and forth like "Was I what you thought I would be like?", "Skittles or M&Ms?", etc… Then everybody came over and we all talked some. Then we went inside to play Apples to Apples. I sat down and Sam came and sat beside me. Then he started to "punch" my shoulder so I switched with Rosie…which was kinda bad…cause I ended up sitting beside Christian. And Sam just wouldn't stop making comments about Christian and I… facedesk Then we took group pictures and then the Wrights and Elliotts left.

So, there y'all have it…or I should say the majority of it. There were several times when Sam teased me and there were other details. And of course y'all reading this doesn't even come close to actually being there. ;)
