Sarah B.

If I could tell you one thing about myself it would be that: I am blessed to be here by the grace of God!

I am Sarah B. (as you can see). I live in the state of Ohio, and have spent most of my life here. I enjoy chatting with friends, writing, and a lot more! I am now a country girl of 18, and enjoying the life I was raised in.
I heard about Memverse from a friend who made it to BB Nationals 2011, who heard about it from Carissa. I have joyfully participated in the Bible Bee for three years, but regretfully never made it to Nationals. Now I look forward to someday meeting my friends on MV who have become very dear to me as I have gotten to know them pretty well online.

I have read all about you guys in the “Memverse User List” and am eager to meet you! XD

Ok so if this was supposed to be like a line begging for welcomes, I'll humor you. If not, you can just let me feel sorry to myself for misunderstanding and thinking it was a joke.

Hi Lady Elusive, Nice to meet you, Welcome to Memverse. loll.

I thought that Editor or Piano Teacher or General Critic was more respectable, and you could talk about your job in the presence of males. Besides, I'm English. The English are very sensitive about TMI and personal bubbles and suchlike. I would do badly as a doula or midwife.

How old are you?

I thought about doing that once.

I told a new friend about being a midwife… I don’t normally tell people that as an introduction line but she seemed like the kind of girl who could handle that news… and it was on my mind from talking with you. As it turned out she was absolutely ecstatic about me becoming a midwife!
So I proceeded to tell her of my fear of never marrying because being a midwife really scares guys away… She was shocked, “That’s not true AT ALL! Only a guy in his right mind would marry a midwife!” I rolled my eyes and said, “Great! Now I’ll never be able to marry a crazy country boy.” She laughed and laughed! LOL!

Don’t worry Margaret, I will stick to facts and statistics so as not to gross you out with any stories.

Midwives attend over 70% of births in Europe and Japan. In the United States they attended less then 8%. This is mostly because when the medicals system came out with the trained Doctors of today they needed more business, so they depict the modern-day midwife as a dirty hag who would come to your home and deliver your baby. So of course people flocked to the hospital to have a nice clean birth. One problem… the midwifes didn’t follow them there.

The United States has the second worst newborn death rate in the developed world. Women in the U.S. are four times more likely to die right after pregnancy then women in other countries. It really makes you wonder why doctors do C-sections if they aren’t saving lives… They are not trained to do natural births; most doctors (fresh out of school) have never even witness a natural birth in their lives. They are trained to do surgical procedures, and birth does not qualify as surgery matter, unless there are complications. As the hospital system has set up the birth operation they are a business. Their mane goal is to have the women in and out of the hospital as fast as they can, not the care of baby and mother. Thus they want to induce the baby (much like a c-section inducing a baby can be a life saver, but it is also very dangerous when used inappropriately), which causes stress for the baby and more pain in labor so they introduces the painkillers that do away with the mother’s pain. But the painkillers also slow down the labor so they have to use even more Pitocin! At this point the levels of Pitocin and painkiller are so high that the baby is in a lot of stress so the doctor orders for an emergency c-section (which at this point is very necessary) and any hopes the mother had for a natural birth are out the window.

-In 1938 half of all births in the U.S. took place at home.
-In 1938, half of all births took place at home
-By 1955, less then 1% of births took place at home.

It is not true that a woman who has had a c-section can never have a natural birth again, as some believe. :)

You can take it or leave it. That’s the information I have to offer.
Most of this information is from The Business of Being Born a documentary about hospital vs. natural birth. ^Warning: Not approved for boys according to my family’s standards.^

Why are you going to delete it?
haha… It never crossed my mind to be scared away by a midwife. Then again, I'm an "un-socialized homeschooler". :)

{Cleared} <Everybody just so you know I'm no longer going by my name on Memverse. If you know my name that is good for you, but I would rather go by my username. :) THANK YOU!<

Lol, yes, I am. :) I've had a lot of things come up the last couple days so I haven't been on as much as I was before…which is probably a good thing. I still have quite a bit to get done before school starts again.

Yes, I understand. Memverse can be so addicting! The only thing you can do is fill your life up with things away from the computer… :) For me that is hard because all my school is on the internet. But in a few days my sister and I will be going to a mission center to serve in a soup kitchen so I'll probably not be on that day. :)
Did you get your driving license?

It's very addicting. :) Yes, I passed my driving test (finally)! How did you know… I guess I must have mentioned it on SC somewhere.

Rebeka B.

But at the same time it's nice to know you have friends who are just a post away! :D
Good for you! You said you were going to at sometime. :) I will be taking mine in April (Lord willing). I get nerves just thinking about it! I hope I get a nice tester! How was the test for you?

B5398d36188fb1b2fd2bfc030485b821?s=128&d=mm

Seth W.

True. :)
Well, I wouldn't say it was unnecessarily hard, but the first times I took it I was expecting it to be easier than it was, so I was way underprepared. The first time I took it I failed, I took it again a couple weeks later (even though I new I shouldn't) and failed again. Which is unusual for me - I'm not the kind of person who usually fails things. Come to think of it, I think driving may be my lowest-scoring subject of all time…:) I was really worried about failing it a third time, because then you have to submit an application to get permission to try again and all that kind of stuff, but praise God I passed.
One thing that really helps is to find out where you are going to take the test and make sure you are familiar with that town, so there are no surprises when you get to a confusing intersection or something.
Fortunately, you get (at least) 3 tries, so if you don't make it the first time you can learn from it and try again! Having the instructor go over the things I needed to work on with my dad was very helpful.
I've probably sufficiently scared you by now. :) It really isn't that hard of a test as long as you are a competent driver and know where your vehicle is. Much less stressful than BB, though not as much fun.

Rebeka B.

Don’t worry; I’m not easily scared (though it can be done). :) Thank you for the heads up! Now I’m glad I live in a small town. It is encouraging to hear other people’s advice on taking the driving test. What did you think of the maneuverability part of the test? Do you have that in your state? I hear that part is the hardest.
