"Where else can I go?
Jesus, You’re the One
That I was made to know
What else can I do?
Jesus, You’re my all
I gladly run to You"

I have returned, only to leave you all again… I have a test in 5 days. I have never taken a test like to this before - so I am appropriately nervous.
Sarah B.
I had to reschedule my test… really bummed about that. But gave myself more time to study.
Btw, I would definitely recommend Quizlet for studying!!! I'm like, "Why didn't anyone tell me about this before!?"
ZachB
Been on Quizlet for 4 years! It's awesome for studying! What's your username?
Sarah B.
I know I have heard it mentioned before, but never actually recommend. :) (Seth, Cari, and Bethany talked about first meeting on there before at Nationals…)
I already found you on there, as well as many of my Memverse buddys! Love that username! My username is: Sara19b
ZachB
Quizlet used to have chat boxes on the classes and on sets but they got rid of the class chat a couple years ago. They got rid of the set chat this year.
Sarah B.
Aww.. so I just missed it. :P What a shame! :(
Welp, probably just as well… I need to be focused on studying when I'm on there. Haha.
Sarah B.
Why did they get ride of the chats? Jw.
It makes me worried that they might get rid of Memverse, and all our lovely chats will be gone forever! There are plenty of people out there who think Memverse community is a pollution. :(
ZachB
They got rid of the Quizlet chats because they thought people were using it more for social purposes than for study purposes. So everyone who was using it for study purposes got jinxed.
Dance4Him

This is so cool! I'm talking to dad about it right now, and he is rattling off all the places in the US we should visit on our way… just so happens we have family in Minnesota. And on the way back he said we'll stop by Walley's and P.s (me thinks he's joking on that one). XD
Dance4Him
Haha! That would be so great! And they day after the preformance you guys can come to our house and watch us sleep! (We leave the school at 10ish, then go to Perkins and usually don't leave until 3-4. So that means not getting home before 5.)
Sarah B.
Awww! You will be so tired! XD Well, we'll try to work it out somehow so we can visit more. That would be cool… but, just keep in mind that nothing is for sure until we get closer to the date. Let me know when we need to have tickets and stuff. ;)
Dance4Him
Well of course. Thats like a really long trip. And not for 6 months!
Tickets usually are discounted until May, but they are available there if they don't sell out. I'll let you know. :)
Sarah B.
Alrighty! Thanks so much! I can't wait to find out if we can make it or not!
Sarah B.
Happy New Years! I won't be on tonight to tell you.

The show is in Eden Prairie. I'm not sure how far that would be for you guys. But you should definitely try to come! I'd love to meet you too!
Sarah B.
Oh! That would be so cool! I would love to meet you all! I really am not sure how my life is going to pan out this year though. Dad wants me to get a job soon, and that will tie me down a bit. I have babies due in February, (possibly) April, and June… so I'll have to work things around those births.
This is a list of my hoped for trips… but there's no guarantee about anything.
India *
Greece *
Missouri (Kansas City) - in February, for Scriptorium
Minnesota - in May
Akron - June, for the Ohio Scriptorium
Florida
West Virginia
We'll just have to wait and see. sigh

It's under 60 min, and mom said that's within reasonable distance to drive. Approx. how much is a ticket?
Dance4Him
Oh, cool! That would be sooooo fun if you could make it!
If you purchase them when they are first available, they should be $15, then they go up to $20. (Last few years at least… Can't guarantee that's what it will be this year. )

Seeing that I have not been keeping up with my reputation for being available on the forums much, I wanted to give you all an explanation for my absence.
I have accepted a position overseas as an au pair, looking after a set of two year old twins. The past month (March) I was adjusting to life as an independent adult, after moving out of my parents house. God has been teaching me many things!
Sadly, I doubt I will ever return to Memverse the way I used to. But this place is full of memories for me, and I will always return to it to see myself as I was in my teens. The friendship I share with you all is priceless, and I pray that I never lose touch with you all. And someday I hope we can all get together as a group of common minded friends (who don't let their differences in opinions get in the way) who laugh together. That was what defined the Golden Age of Memverse!

Dear conservative Christian population,
I concider myself a conservative Christian, too. I don't go out partying, and I study my bible just as much as you do. I'm trying to gain a better perspective on scripture and claim my faith for my own. I have decided to no longer just accept the scriptures that where fed to me and twisted by fear and manipulation. So I know how you think because I was raised that way, too - so fearful that if I didn't obey every word my authority said, and only hung out with the 'good' other conservative Christians I would be messed up by their bad influence. I'd like to challenge that thinking with two things.
First of all, if your faith is so easily shaken and taken from you by who you hang out with, perhaps it's not built on the Rock you talk about, or perhaps you were just blindly following someone else's 'faith'. Doesn't God say that nothing can pluck us out of His hand? Where is your faith?
Secondly, Jesus wasn't afraid to hang out with the worse of sinners. He had no fear that they would take away His love for His Father! How strong is your faith?
Fathers, are you afraid of letting your daughters talk to me, because you might lose control of your power over them? Why? "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
ZachB
Sarah, first of all let me say I do not know all that much about your situation, but coming from a guy's perspective there are a few things I would like to offer.
Firstly, what better perspective of Scripture is there than Scripture itself? If God's word was not self explanatory, then it would not be perfect, and everything that proceeds from God is perfect. I think it's great that you're eager to claim Christianity for yourself instead of merely believing what other people tell you. But the question remains, are they really 'twisting' it, or are they just truthfully stating Scriptures that preach something we don't want to hear?
When it comes to hanging out with other people, and in our friends and relationships, the Bible has a lot to say. King Solomon from his lofty palace saw lots of stupidity among people in choosing who to associate with. Take the youth in Proverbs 7 for example. That's why over and over again Solomon in Proverbs emphasizes the need to choose one's friends carefully. Take a look at Proverbs 27:17: 'As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend."
This verse from Proverbs 27 is well known to many of us. Many verses in Proverbs deal with the topic of friendship. The world we live in today is a dangerous place, no less than it was back in Solomon's day, and in choosing our friends we need to be very careful. A famous quote says "Show me your friends and I'll show you your future." Friends play a powerful role in our lives. Some friends come and go, others are lifelong friends. Each one leaves their mark on us.
The verse we are looking at is comparing friends to iron. Specifically, iron sharpening iron. Think about this for a moment. When two pieces of metal rub against each other for a period of time, what happens? The metal becomes shiny. That's one of the many purposes of steel wool, which is a type of "cloth" made of fine strips of metal that is used in polishing. Another example of this would be to look at a knife that has just been sharpened. The sharpened edge is shinier than the rest of the blade.
So let's look at the mental picture so far. We have two pieces of metal rubbing against each other and polishing each other. An exact picture of what Solomon is portraying in our verse when he references friends sharpening each other's countenances.
But what if one of the pieces of metal is rusty? What happens when it rubs against the other piece of metal? Think about it. What happens when you brush against rust on a building or a car? The rust comes off on your clothing. In our scenario the rusty metal and the normal piece of metal aren't going to be polishing each other. The good metal isn't going to polish off the rust off the rusty metal. Instead, the abrasive rust on the bad metal is going to come off on the good metal, and it will be negatively effected. If this goes on for long enough, it can cause both pieces to become nothing but two pieces of worthless rust.
How does this look when applied to the verse? What is the rusty metal? What is the good metal? How does this come into play when we're talking about friends? Good, godly friends are the good iron. Bad friends and influences are rusty iron.
What kind of "metal" are we rubbing against? What kind of friends are we associating with? Are our friends godly Christians who will polish us? Or are they bad influences that will just get us rusty? You may think you are invincible and not influenced by those around you, but that just isn't so. No matter how strong a person thinks they are, everyone is influenced by the people around them, in both big and small ways. Two pieces of metal rubbing against each other are not going to remain unchanged.
But what does this say about ourselves? If godly friends polish us, and ungodly friends make us rusty, what are we doing about ourselves to make sure we ourselves are good iron that polishes others? Proverbs 18:24a says that "A man who has friends must himself be friendly". In other words, if we want to attract good friends, we have to be a good friend ourselves.
Iron machinery cannot help but rub against other iron parts, but having good iron as opposed to rusty iron makes a big difference in the efficiency and quality of production. When two people are friends, they rub off on each other. A good friend, like Proverbs says, sharpens the countenance, and polishes it. And friends who are not good influences are going to affect us negatively.
Now this isn't to say we are to shut ourselves up and not associate with unbelivers at all. We just need to be wary and make sure our close friends–the ones who influence us the most–are "good iron".
With that said, there is no reason we should be "shut up" from the world, but we must remember that we are "in the world but not of it". Our closest friends, the metal we rub against the most, must be good metal. Regarding rusty metal, this doesn't mean that you will necessarily fall away, but many people have indeed because of such influence in their life fallen to being merely nominal Christians.
Looking ahead to my future as the father I hope to be someday, I say look at yourself. Ask yourself, would I really want a little girl, or a young woman, would I want my daughter to be this way? And if the answer is no, then it's time for some self reevaluation.

I wish we could sit down and talk about this… I'm afraid there is a lot I'd like to say that goes beyond typing over the Internet. Do you do video calls on Facebook Messager? Thanks for the time you took to concider the subject… without much insight into the situation you definitely have a few good points in there. :)
The answer to your last question is, Yes! I really do hope that my daughter will be independent and free when she is 20 y/o… seeking to serve the Lord, and making her faith her own.
Roy Phillips
Are you really Trying to keep up this farce? we didn't want you to leave because You weren't ready to be on your own and Isn't that why you -Freeloaded- stayed with that family in Texas?
Andrew
First of all -It's spelled "Texas". Second, as Sarah's friend, I take some offence that you choose to attack her here, instead of quietly loving her. Some time ago, I was in your same situation (A sibling left, amidst alot of disagreement) I was also angry at those I believed to have irreparably damaged the family unity. But somehow, she survived (without my advice) and made the effort to rebuild relationships with us. Your sister can do the same. Peter, very few people are prepared to storm the first battle in the war called life. Pray for Sarah, that God would protect and lead her. And then pray that he prepares you for your battles.
Isa 40.31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.
Roy Phillips
I'm fine but she is spreading stupid and destructive Ideas that will ruin other family's. It's to bad she has to hide out on video calls where there's only one or two people to ensnare at a time.
Andrew
Shall we start flaming?
Believe me, I can stoop to your level.
"Its too bad you have to hide out in your bedroom being a keyboard warrior, maybe if you had a webcam, you could create youtube videos to better malign your sister." ;) JK Don't take me too seriously.
Really though, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are correct, I just wonder if this is the best way to solve things?
Roy Phillips
My level? do you mean the level of calling a the ludicrous and trumped up accusations against her parents a "farce?"
lions hunt zebras by picking of the ones who stray from the pack. Its how she was bamboozled into all this and now she dose dose the same. idk Maybe you mean the level of being right?
Hey that's a great idea! I haven't upload a video to my YouTube Chanel since i uploaded my last video. I just think trolls are a more interesting topic.
Tutis 1: 10- 14
10 For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group. 11 They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach—and that for the sake of dishonest gain. 12 One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.” 13 This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith 14 and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the merely human commands of those who reject the truth.
