I brought it up because I have been talking with Marissa lately and I know that she don't mean to do anything wrong. She didn't know you guy's disliked it so much until you guys were so mean. I think you guys should have been the ones asking her questions if you didn't like it!!! That would be a lot better then bombarding her with mean sarcastic comments! Jesus would never have done anything like that!

That one time was more……I dunno……painful to think about, than it was actually inappropriate.

Before I say anything else, I want to say that I know nothing about this whole fiasco except what I've seen on this thread. But I think I've seen enough to say a few things.
Perhaps Marissa was saying some inappropriate things. Perhaps she was being crass and doing things you wouldn't expect from a Christian. But does that deserve the kind of response from us as we apparently gave her? Even if she had been an anti-Christian hurling insults at us left and right, in what way are we as Christians always to conduct ourselves? In Christlikeness.
From the little that I've read, I don't believe that we were displaying Christlikeness to this person. Even if she deserved what you guys said to her, we aren't supposed to give people what they deserve. On the contrary, we're to give them what they don't deserve–forgiveness and acceptance. If she had persisted in what she was doing, perhaps we could have gotten more stern. But the way in which you all conducted yourself towards her did not display Christ's character to her, I am certain.
I would say more, but my time is running out. I just ask that you all attempt to prevent this from happening again by greeting newcomers with graciousness, even if they are a far cry from Memverse standards. If Marissa does happen to come back, please be gracious. It's what Jesus would do, isn't it?

Thanks. I guess I wasn't the best example of Christian love. But, I fail to see why Carissa and Sarah are bringing this up now, as they've had two whole days after this whole episode to talk about it. The points made were fair, but the timing and approach was off, to me. And, FTR, I have been happy to accept her. Even her sister thanked me for being forgiving and accepting. Perhaps I shall apologize for my sarcastic words.

I don't really feel comfortable jumping in on the conversation, but I had to say this. Sarah, I was partly on at the time when this happened. I did not see anyone saying anything to her about killing herself. I don't know where that came from, but I certainly did not see anything of the kind.

Okay, thank you for telling me. I think you’re probably right. But sometimes when people are upset they read into things that aren’t there, especially over the internet. Anyway that is the idea she got from what was said.

I'm sorry for opening this discussion up again, but, that's exactly what I came here to do. I want to formally say: I apologize for my behavior last night. I was in the wrong, but in my self-righteousness, I blinded myself to it, and made irrational arguments for my own innocence in this matter. I've been a jerk to pretty much everyone, especially Marissa and Sarah and Carissa. I've also sinned against God. I did pray about this last night after our conversation, and I'm ashamed to say that I did feel that I was wrong, but tried to suppress my conscience. I've let you all down, and proven how spiritually immature I am. Some of my first words in this conversation were that I shouldn't be compared to a former Memverser who was known for being prideful, and looking down on others, but that's exactly what I became. I have acted foolishly, and have repented, and I humbly ask for your forgiveness. If I have proven myself to be too great a nuisance to the rest of the community, I will leave for good if you so wish. Once again, I am sorry.
