Dissections aren't really that bad! In fact, I enjoyed it! They don't stink, they only have a slight medicinal smell which isn't bad. It helped me a lot with my studies too. Personally, I thought the earthworm was a little tricky because it is so small. That's okay, I liked the challenge!

@SoulWinner, How did you disect the cat 'online', just wondering.

Disecting a moose, or rather butchering for meat, is kinda fun. We get road-kill moose for our meat up here. It can be pretty messy if you use a chainsaw though, but that makes bone cutting so much faster. In the winter it's kinda nice when you pull out the heart or liver, because it's still warm.

It had me click through each section. Like I would look at the guy do the dissection. I also saw the dissection of a frog.

Okay guys… So here's why I am NOT a fan of dissection:

About two of three years ago, when I was doing biology, my sister and I had to do a couple of dissections… We went all out and did both the frog and perch in about an hour and a half!

So, we're outside, it's getting dark,I'm getting hungry, it's cold (You're getting the picture!) and I'm trying to cut the gill of a dead perch open… I'm using the scalpel when all of a sudden, a formaldehyde covered scale from the skin of the fish detaches and promptly flies onto my lip and then into my mouth…. I got it out and washed my mouth…. right away!

So, do you believe me when I say that that experience left a "Bad taste" for dissections in my mouth?!?!

That's horrible Jordan. That reminds me of when my older brother would taxidermy birds in our basement. The whole house would smell of formaldehyde, and it was really disgusting to watch him pulling the insides out. Now I know why he is a military medic:)

You know you're a homeschooler if:
You are studying mole fractions in chemistry at 8:00 pm under your covers in bed with a sunburn…cause you spent the whole day skiing and your evening watching history videos by Dave Stotts. :P

You're constantly doing double lessons in every subject so you can go skiing and shooting and other fun stuff. :P

You're looking forward (like…so looking forward) to reading "The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History".

All you can think about is when the chorale music (for the Homeschool Convention) is going to come!!!!

You get annoyed when your computer never knows how to spell "homeschool" . :P (like right now…)

You actually finished THREE years of French…..contended sigh
(I celebrated with strawberry short cake!! That's kinda a weird homeschooler thing too I guess…)

Well, you know you're homeschooled if you and your sibs are the only kids in the whole place who know how to smile.

If you're frequently being asked "Why are you out of school, is it another holiday or something?" "Uh, no……I'm on a field trip" =D

If you spend your spare time reading Josephus, or Ussher's "Annals of the World" (okay, doesn't necessarily have to be those books, those are just some of the ones I like at the moment:)

@Elanee: No, Crystal is the only other place I've skied. Yes, I sort of took lessons. We got three group lessons. :)

@Emily: Those are good ones. Especially the smiling one! :)

@Danielle: He's not weird!! He's hilarious. :P Have you seen the one where you goes to the dead sea and sticks water in his eye and does crunches in the water? :P

I must not be one then, since I use the Lego Message Boards. But, 90% of the users on the Lego Message Boards are homeschooled! And, about 98% of the homeschoolers there are Christians! And mostly conservative Christians too!
