I have so many favorites! I really like "A Tale of Two Cities", "The Boy Colonel: A Soldier without a Name", "The Pilgrims Progress", "The Holy War", "Through Gates of Splendor", "In the Shadow of the Almighty", and "The Triumph of John and Betty Stam". Those are just a few of my favorites. Oh, and I also really like the Chuck Black books: "The Kingdom Series" and "Knights of Arrethtrae". What are some of your favorite books?

I have so many favorites too! I like "In the Reign of Terror", "One of the 28th", "To Have and to Hold", "Through Russian Snows", "American Rebirth", and of course the Bible. :)
If I was allowed to I would read all day! :) Have you read any of those? Or have you read any books by G. A. Henty? Those are really, really good. What are your favorite type of books?

Hi Hannah!

I'm a book worm as well, but unfortunately I don't get a lot of time for book-wormy things. :( What are you reading right now? I'm reading an excellent commentary/preaching guide, by R. Alan Culpepper.

What is your favorite genre of books? Mine is historical fiction. :)

Are you participating in the Bible Bee?

You have to make a gravatar account (under Account > Profile, there's a link to the webpage) with the same email you have for your memverse account.

Collect things…do books count? :)

Emily H

Yeah, me too:) I also have all 50 state quarters, so I'm not really collecting them anymore, I already collected them!
you're welcome:)

Hey that's really cool! :D Did you see the new state quarters? I don't like them :-/ I don't remember when I finished finding all the state quarters…

Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)

Yes, I've seen them. They're okay-ish, but I just finished collecting the other ones and I don't feel like spending another ten years doing it all over again… But my youngest brother is collecting as many of them as he can. How many are there?

They're okay-ish, but I just finished collecting the other ones and I don't feel like spending another ten years doing it all over again...

Exactly.

yeah, same here.

@Hannah, we have the whole collection of Lamplighter books, and all the Ballantyne books from Vision Forum. And I have a whole bunch of Henty books on kindle. But we have a LOT of books…

Hannah W. (Adelaide)

Wow that's a lot of books! Do you have any of the Martha Finley books? Or AKA Elsie Books? THose are really good. What Henty books do you have?

I also collect the 50 quarters…….Have them all though…

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

Yes, we have the Elsie books, but I didn't read all of them because I didn't like how Elsie was so perfect!:P Oh my, I have 70 (I think) Henty books on kindle, and I think eight audios and a few of the hard copies. I love Henty books! I've read and/or listened to only like nine though… Have you listened to any of the audios? They're abridged, so I don't like that…but they're nice for long road trips (cough, cough coming home from Nationals:)

029f1ffd1f1323c3b8c78b4c533ab231?s=128&d=mm

Hannah W. (Adelaide)

I love the Elsie books too….but it is rather annoying that she is soooooo perfect! It is amazing how many books Henty wrote in his lifetime! It seems he wrote one book a month! I like listing to the audios to…..I don't notice that though….What is your favorite Henty book? Mine is either "In the Reign of Terror" or "One of the 28th" Yeah…. We listened to a bunch coming home from Nationals… :)

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

I know! And they're all sooo good and detailed in so many different time frames! It is amazing. If you have the audios from vision forum, on the back it says something like "gently and thoughtfully abridged"… I read along one time just to see how abridged it was:) they just left out little things, but I'd still rather it wasn't abridged… I LOVE "In the Reign of Terror". Definitely my favorite:) (I can't find the audio, so now I'll have to read it:P:) I also liked "For the Temple", "The Lion of St. Mark" and "Wulf the Saxon"… I haven't read "One of the 28th" yet…

Hannah W. (Adelaide)

Well if you like mysteries it's a good one……..I won't tell you much but they have to find a missing will…It's kinda confusing but it's really good.
Do like mysteries? I LOVE them they are my favorite kind of books!

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

I actually haven't read very many, mainly because I don't really own any or know of any that are good:P So I'd probably have to say the Boxcar Kids series:P But I REALLY like mystery books anyway….lol

93fcb35bede1ac128cb83b71e8060885?s=128&d=mm

SavedByGrace

Actually, yes! :P The Boxcar Kids do (or at least, they used to) live in a boxcar. I've only read the first one, so I don't know much about the other ones. :)

And if you're looking for good mysteries, I'd recommend the Sherlock Holmes series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I've read a few (I have all of them on my Kindle now), and they are REALLY good! :)

EDIT–Aw, you beat me to the answer. :P

I think that's my favorite too! I don't think I have read all of them either………But they all really good…..Which one did you not like?
(very few for me…. :) )
