I guess we need different aproaches for different situations:

Quote:
"Few people care about God's love and grace if they do not think they need love or grace."

It might be pretty difficult to point this out in a "talk on the street" situation.
But I know lot´s of people who have different sorrows and needs and they need Jesus within their earthly situation:
- They need him to give them rest.
- They need him to have somebody who understands their
everyday struggels and listen to their complaints in life.
- They need him to feel loved by somebody.
- They need to know, that they are loved although they are not
perfect (most people think that they need to be good, do that
somebody loves them)
- They need Jesus to truly love others and how to face conflicts.

And I think lot´s of people really need somebody to trust on, somebody to tell about their feelings and worries. And usually that´s not the first thing they tell you, when you just build the two minute relationship ;-)
Let´s try to tell them about Matthew 11:28-30.

The question is, how can i live that others see how Jesus helps me in everyday life, not just in my eternal future?
How can i be a friend? We don´t have to become best friends, but the closer somebody can see your life and how you live with Jesus, the more he understands the difference between his and your life. And the more trustworthy will be, what you tell him about Jesus.

I try to speak naturally about my faith, often there are situations where it can be naturally added that you believe. For example when you are asked for your weekend plans, when you review your verses during lunch break or when you read a Christian book/The Bible. "Yes Jesus is part of my life and i´m so blessed, because he listens always…" Or just "well, i memorize scripture, yes mostly the verses i memorize have a strong meaning for me".
It's always spontaneous how deep such a conversation becomes, but for me it's very important that i don't feel forced to share the gospel.

Thank you for your thoughts, balu. I agree with you, forming a relationship with a person usually makes it a lot easier to share the gospel with them, and they will probably be more open to you doing it. But I think that this should not be the only way we ever share the gospel; we should be willing to go out and tell anyone about Jesus, no matter how little we know them. :)

I couldn't tell you right off because I don't know exactly what he believes. But last year in his book "God has a wonderful plan for your life" My dad read it and he said that there were some things he didn't agree with.

Did anyone get a chance to witness to anyone over the fourth? We get a lot of people in town just for the fourth, so before the fireworks last night some friends, cousins, and a few of my brothers and I got to go around in groups of two, and give out tracks, and witness. One lady I got to talk to was really interested, she had never read a Bible, or gone to church, but she new that death could come any time, and she we were able to give her a lot to think about. In our area, it's almost impossible to witness to the older generation, because they all grew up being told that because they were baptized and because they believed that there was a God, they were going to heaven. They believe in God, but they have never excepted God's free gift of Salvation, and they don't think that their lost. And until someone gets lost, they can't get saved.

A little while ago, we were at a restaurant, and I snuck a tract onto someone's table while they weren't looking!! :D

That's GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! Some tracts are so much fun to leave on tables, or in other spots where people are sure to find them.

In our Church, we have these little cards that we give out, with a Bible verse, the I'll Be Honest website, our phone/name, etc. They are just as big as a credit card. Something a man did our Church with those, was stick them in the gas pumps where you stick your credit card, after you get gas. That way, the next person to get gas, would have to see it/take it out before they put their card in.

I think that's a neat idea :)

In It Not Of It

I like those million dollar tracts from living waters. I have never had someone turn it away. most of the time they're like " wow i got a million bucks!!" or "hey! your the best" ( and of course I say " i know")

they're not too expensive either!

I agree. those million dollar bills really get people's attention. I especially like the ones that have a little bit bigger writing on the back. I also really like the living waters wallet tracts. There awesome to leave on a bench somewhere, or in a rest room. One time I dropped one (On purpose of course:) on the floor of a rest room at a restraunt and my dad saw a worker come out with it later, and show it off to the other workers.

Has anyone ever been witnessing to someone and have them say that they believe everyone has their own separate heaven?
That happened to one of my cousins, and we were wondering if anyone had run into that statement before.
When witnessing I was wondering what you all do when you come across someone who knows that they are going to Hell, but they don't care because that's where their friends are?

I, along with another lady in our Church, have been going to our local nursing home and reading with different people there. Today, we read with 9 people! The Lord really answered my prayers today! Praise the Lord!

Me and my brothers and some friends just did a lemonade stand and gave out tracts with the lemonade & cookies. :)

That's a really good idea too! I used to feel like witnessing was so hard, but the more I do it, the more I realize that there are opportunity's to witness and give out tracts all over the place!

I don't have a favorite way. Recently though I've been going with a lady in our church to read with different women at the nursing home. It is very encouraging!

That is a great idea Leah! One of my cousins sent a gospel tract to every house in her town. Maybe I dream big, but my dream is to send a handwritten letter sharing the gospel to everyone in my town. It is also always a good idea to send out a gospel tract with your Christmas cards.

Here is just a bit of encouragement to be handing out gospel tracts.
If you handed out one tract every day from the time you were ten to the time you were sixty years old, you would have given out eighteen thousand two hundred and fifty tracts. If you had passed out three a day for the same amount of time, you would have passed out fifty four thousand seven hundred and fifty gospel tracts. So get going!!

Well here are some things that happened to me while we were evangelizing and passing out our flyers/tracts at the IHOP conference. My dad, Daniel, Bethany, and David, along with some people from our church, Mr. M., Lauren M. and Connor M. were the ones who were with me.

Shortly after we got there Connor asked a man in a black coat if he wanted a flyer. The man said no and walked away. Only then did we realize that he was a security person. Then he turned around and walked back. “Sure I’ll take one of those? So what are you passing out? Why are you passing them out? Where do you live? Who did you come with? Are you parents around here anywhere?” We answered his questions and he went to talk to my dad. Well, in the end security made us leave. It turns out they had rented the sidewalk as well. So we just went to the opposite street corners and continued to pass them out.

One man I gave a flyer to asked if I was homeschooled. I said yes and then he pulled out his wallet and showed me a picture of his family. He had about 6 children and he started telling me "Oh, my oldest daughter went to such and such a college and…" then he would tell me all about the college. He told me which college each of his children went to and then told me all about the college.

One man I gave a flyer to asked me “I can ask you a few questions”. I wasn’t sure if I could answer them all but I said yes. “Okay, so my first question is, Are you totally for IHOP?” I said that we weren’t. Then he launched into telling me how happy he was that we were not IHOP only. Because if we were for IHOP only then he would have nothing to do with us. He went on and on and on about that and then he walked away. (BTW we’re not with IHOP at all ;-D)

I was passing out flyers and this family walked past me (they had about 4 children). One of the girl’s asked if she could have one so I handed it to her and then the dad asked if he could have one. So I gave one to him as well. Then they walked on. Then a few minutes later they came back to me. And the dad asked if he could have a bunch of our flyers so they could help pass them out. They had seen the illbehonest link on the back and they wanted to help us pass them out. It turns out they were here to pass out some flyers/tracts as well. So once we ran out of our flyers (We passed out about 2000 yesterday) we helped them pass out their flyers/tracts. Then someone that they had come with started preaching.

One man took a flyer and walked away and then a few seconds later he came back acting really excited. “So do you live around here? Is your dad with you?” My dad was talking with a few people but I pointed him out to the man. He got all excited then he saw that my dad was already talking with some people. “Do you think it will be okay if I go and listen in to his conversation?” I said that was fine so he went and listened to his conversation. That was at about 7:00 and my dad talked with him until about 10:30.

We (Lauren, Connor and I) were standing at the street corner passing out our flyers. This man was walking past and we asked if he wanted a flyer. He took one and then started telling us all about how IHOP was so good. Then he asked us to pray for him right then. So we prayed for him and then he started telling us that whenever we see someone hurting we should to and pray for them and the Holy Spirit will come upon them and heal them right then.

I had several times where people prayed over me. One person walked across the street and then came back and told me “I felt God is leading me to pray for you.” So, he prayed for me. (BTW when people pray for you at IHOP they lay their hands on you…)

A couple different times people told me “Oh, you look like someone who would really like to be in IHOP. You really should go in there! Have you asked your parents yet if you can? You should keep asking them until they let you go in there because you would really like it.”
A few people that I asked if they wanted a flyer said, “No, I don’t want your flyer. But you’re doing a really good job passing them out. Keep it up!”

I asked a lady if she wanted a flyer and she handed me a newspaper and said “If you’ll take mine, I’ll take yours.” So we swapped and then her husband asked me if we were with IHOP. He said they were not. They were just here to spread the word about their church. They said that after the apostolic age there was no true church until now. They are the true church and everyone who wants to be a Christian has to live in their community. And everybody who didn’t live in their community was not a Christian. He finally told us though that we were definitely Christians even though we didn’t live in their community. And several times after that they came up to me and told me how I was doing such a good job passing out our flyers.

Yup!!! It was definitely an act of God that I gave him a flyer. There were thousands of people there but God made me hand me a flyer and then have him talk to my dad!

I don't have anyone here to keep me accountable for handing out tracts. I'm shy of walking up to strangers, and then I chicken out at the last moment. If I had someone to do it with me, it might be a different story.

I don't know…it depends. You know, if I or any of my brothers or sisters end up getting to Semi-finals/Finals, that would double the busyness. BB schedule is already crammed full. :)
