The Story That Never Ends

( Wow this thread was WAY at the bottom of the page…I thought I would move it up :)…..I plan to add either today or tommorow BTW so we can keep this story up and running. So sad that a lot of people have stoped adding :(……………)

(I'm gonna start again soon. I started catching up last night. And my younger brother want me to read it to him. :))

(There is no way I could add now!! I'd hate to ruin the story - it is soo intense!!! :) Can't wait to see more additions. Seriously though, we probably need to wrap it up soon so we can get this 1st one finished. :))

(To be honest, I have no idea WHAT I would add - have a runaway horse stop Britton's fall somehow, have him land on the horse right side up, gallop away to find everyone else, and finally lead back an entire army of knights? All that in 5 minutes to come back, save Kathryn, have them grow up and get married and live happily ever after. Hmm, there's an idea…)

BTW when we publish the story, we are going to have a LONG list of names for the people who write this story!!!!!!!! AND Jimmy already did a test to see if a kid could publish a e-book (using a short story he wrote.) and they CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So this THIS IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I just had sugar :)………

(I was thinking about the story, and I have come to the conclusion (which I am sure you have as well) that it is rather complex and complicated. :) I had an idea that might perhaps be a good one. What if, at the end of every chapter (in the printed book, if we get that far), we include a map of the country. On the map we write all the towns and landmarks mentioned. At the same time, we could draw dots on the map and label them as where the main characters are located at the end of the chapter. This way, at the end of every chapter, the reader's mind can become a bit more clear and he can see where everyone is. He can watch the characters move across the country and would be far less likely to be confused. Of course, we would need to actually finish the book, get it printed, and have someone draw the map, but I think it would be both helpful and interesting. :) )

That would be helpful! I could draw the maps if no one else wanted to. I would just need someone to type out what the country "looks" like, which city borders which other cities, etc.

(I love that idea! :) But here's a thought: how about, instead of having a map at the end of every chapter, we have a single map at the beginning of the book showing the travels of all of the characters? Of course, some of them would overlap, but I think we could use different colored lines or something to show who goes where throughout the book. What do you think? :) )

(Great idea! We just don't want to give the story away, though. :) It's great to see you back here, SBG. By the way, we are sort of at a roadblock (no seems to want to post). If you have time, would you feel at all inclined to make a small addition to jumpstart our creative thinking? :) )

(I sooooo like the map idea! I think if we just have one at the beginning, drawing lines for all the people might not work so well, because there would be a lot of lines making it hard to see the map. If we want to do lines, a map at the end of each chapter would probably work best… However, if we just do one detailed map at the beginning of the book, whoever reads it could figure out where the characters are themselves. Anyway, I think we really need to have a map of some sort:)

(last year I just tried to memorize which references went with what topic {ie, if I was doing the CRs for Knowledge, I'd just write out the references and a short summary of the passage} and that worked okay:)

(Hey, everyone… I'm back, momentarily. I decided to make an addition involving Britton; I hope you like it. :) )

As he fell through the air, Britton closed his eyes and clenched his teeth as he prepared for the unavoidable slamming of his body against the stone pavement beneath him. His expectation was met within a second, and he hit the ground hard, falling mainly on his feet. He cried out in pain as what felt like fire shot through his legs and up his back, and he instantly crumpled to the ground.

He quickly tried to get up, but he found that he could not. He had at least sprained, and possibly even broken, both his ankles. He looked back at the wall, and saw Traius's men and some of the convicts heading toward the broken door to come and, presumably, kill him for what he had just done. As he watched the men fast approaching, he quickly realized that this could very well be his last few seconds to live. He had no way to escape this time, no exit strategy. He was unable to move, and a dozen armed foes were coming toward him to kill him.

He lowered his head and closed his eyes. "Lord, I thank you that you have allowed me the privilege of glorifying you through my life. Now I pray that, if I am about to die, you would allow me the privilege of glorifying you through my death." He looked up again at the group of angry men, swords drawn, running swiftly toward him. "Lord, into your hands I commit my spirit." One of Traius's men finally reached Britton, and he immediately lifted up his sword to deal the young man the death blow.

(All I can say is "DUDE! Bend your knees when you fall from a height! Parkourists do this no prob!" Nice addition, BTW. )

(Hey, he's not a parkourist. :P He didn't have time to think about how he was going to land, and he probably didn't know the best way to do so anyway. :P)
