Probably ran off and joined the League of Shadows and blackmailed Bane into getting on Ra's al Ghul's bad side and leaving to go to Gotham.

    Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
in light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
thy justice like mountains high soaring above
thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

To all, life thou givest, to both great and small;
in all life thou livest, the true life of all;
we blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
and wither and perish, but naught changeth thee.

Thou reignest in glory; thou dwellest in light;
thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight;
all laud we would render: O help us to see
'tis only the splendor of light hideth thee.

You said encouraging. I don't know about you, but when I am discouraged thinking about God really helps because He is alone truly perfect. I am kind of a perfectionist, so when I am not perfect, and nothing around me is perfect, it really frustrates and discourages me.
This hymn became one of my favorites last year when we were studying 1st and 2nd Timothy, because I think that it is based off of 1 Timothy 1:17.

Afraid? Of what?
To feel the spirit's glad release?
To pass from pain to perfect peace,
The strife and strain of life to cease?
Afraid? Of that?

Afraid? Of what?
Afraid to see the Saviour's face,
To hear His welcome, and to trace,
The glory gleam from wounds of grace,
Afraid? Of that?

Afraid? Of what?
A flash - a crash - a pierced heart;
Brief darkness - Light - O Heaven's art!
A wound of His a counterpart!
Afraid? Of that?
Afraid? Of what?
To enter into Heaven's rest,
And yet to serve the Master blessed?
From service good to service best?
Afraid? Of that?

Afraid? Of what?
To do by death what life could not -
Baptize with blood a stony plot,
Till souls shall blossom from the spot?
Afraid? Of that?

Well, I would have been really impressed if you had; it was a great poem!
I used dabble in writing poetry. Then I read some of it…

Yes, it is a really great poem.
I've never tried to write poetry. And personally I don't like poems unless they are SUPER good ones…like this one!

I'm actually writing a poem right now (something, believe me, I don't normally do) in response to something I heard on the radio that kinda surprised me. It'll probably be up tomorrow, Saturday, or sometime soon after that. :)

@Nicolas: Why not???????????????????????????????????
@Sarah: Hmmmm…I don't know what could be wrong. Maybe try just posting one or two of them to start with and see if that works….

We shall eagerly wait so that we can practice being gracious toward what makes us want to curl up into a little ball and scream. Just kidding.

well, I'll just give you a new favorite I discovered for the moment:

"Enemy-occupied territory—that is what this world is. Christianity is the story of how the rightful king has landed, you might say landed in disguise and is calling us to take part in a great campaign of sabotage."
––C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

That quote is so awesome. It gives me goosebumps and makes me grin every time I read it.

Well I haven't read it yet…so don't jump to any conclusions. I'll let you know what I think about it after I read it!

@Sarah–I've heard a guy reading Mere Christianity, and I remember that line! It's a very… um… I can't think of a good adjective to describe it… :P

@margaret–Um… discernment is! Not sure about criticism… :P (Please pardon the emoticon.)

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you. –from A. A. Milne's "Winnie the Pooh"

Usually I don't like mushy quotes.
Here are a couple others to make up for that one:

“I might have known,” said Eeyore. “After all, one can’t complain. I have my friends. Somebody spoke to me only yesterday. And was it last week or the week before that Rabbit bumped into me and said ‘Bother!’. The Social Round. Always something going on.”

“Rabbit's clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit's clever."
"And he has Brain."
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit has Brain."
There was a long silence.
"I suppose," said Pooh, "that that's why he never understands anything.”

“When you are a Bear of Very Little Brain, and you Think of Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it.”

LOL to all three quotes! :D Here's another Pooh one–from a video, though, not a book. :P

Rabbit and Pooh are stuck in a hole. Piglet and a number of short rope pieces are at the top.
Rabbit says to Piglet, "Piglet, can you knot those together?"
Piglet says, "I cannot."
Rabbit replies hopefully, "Uh, so you can knot?"
Piglet clarifies, "No, I cannot knot."
Rabbit's face falls. "Not knot?"
Pooh happily responds, "Who's there?"
Rabbit shouts, "Pooh!"
"Pooh who?" Pooh asks.

“If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.”

“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”
