I think I watched that one. The books are much better, though.
SavedByGrace
From the quotes you've been posting, I agree!! :D
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
OH…that reminds me of something I noticed when I watched The Fellowship of the Ring the other night…
"We have work to do"
–Saruman
"We have work to do"
–White Witch
anyone else noticed that? Someone stole a line from someone…it's such a nice sinister line too.
SavedByGrace
Cool, never noticed that! Where did each say that?
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
um…Saruman, right after he talks to Sauron via the palantír
and the White Witch right after Edmund is rescued, I believe…haven't watched that movie as recently.
SavedByGrace
Cool! Maybe it's just that great minds think alike. :D
Dani(elle)
Or maybe less minds copy off greater minds……. ;)
Margaret Eddy
I heard somewhere that the guy who acts for Saruman in "Lord of the Rings" would drill the other actors on how they said their lines to best represent the book. They should have more people who do that acting in movies that are created off of books!
SavedByGrace
Yes, they definitely should! Christopher Lee is one of my favorite actors because of his role as Saruman–and Count Dooku in Star Wars. :D
Andrew
Ditto
Like Samuel Jackson in Star Wars and Avengers, some people don't seem to age very fast…
Dani(elle)
Not to mention Christopher lee is 92, holds the record for most roles played by one person and sings in a heavy metal Britist band. Yep. If u don't believe me look up Christopher lee the little drummer boy up on iTunes. :)
SavedByGrace
jaw drop Christopher Lee is NOT 92!!!!! Is he?!
EDIT–Wikipedia says he is… o.O
Dani(elle)
Yup. He is. :)
SavedByGrace
He sure didn't look like that in the last Hobbit movie! Heavy makeup, I guess… :P
Dani(elle)
And the beard. He still looks good for his age. Lol
SavedByGrace
Well, Saruman is hundreds of years old, so… I'd say HE looks pretty good for his age. :P
Dani(elle)
Lol then there's Aragorn who looks AMAZING for his age of 87. Lol :)
SavedByGrace
Exactly. :D
Dani(elle)
Let's not forget the Elves!!!! :) lol
BTW- random though I wonder if Orlando Bloom did his own stunts…
SavedByGrace
Ah, who knows. Wouldn't be surprised, though. Except for the shield-surfing-down-the-stairs thing. :P
Dani(elle)
U forgot his most epic stunt when he swings himself up on Gimli's horse during the Warg attack. I litteraly was like "wwhhat the heck just happened??!" I said that out loud. facepalm
SavedByGrace
I was actually thinking about that. :D I have a feeling, though, that that was partially computer generated. :)
Dani(elle)
I didn't mean to say it it just kinda happened lol :) my dad started laughing. :) whatever it was it was probably the highlight of Legolas' 274362297464672828922947474382919746362844739377479374733847473 year long life.
SavedByGrace
Somehow I doubt that. :P And his killing the oliphant was better anyway, I think. ;)
"That still only counts as one!!" :D
Dani(elle)
Lol! I can't wait to see that. :) I haven't watched the whole third one yet. jumps up and down with excitment

Margaret Eddy
“I remember Christian teachers telling me long ago that I must hate a bad man's actions but not hate the bad man: or, as they would say, hate the sin but not the sinner. …I used to think this a silly, straw-splitting distinction: how could you hate what a man did and not hate the man? But years later it occurred to me that there was one man to whom I had been doing this all my life – namely myself. However much I might dislike my own cowardice or conceit or greed, I went on loving myself. There had never been the slightest difficulty about it. In fact the very reason why I hated the things was that I loved the man. Just because I loved myself, I was sorry to find that I was the sort of man who did those things.” – C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
Margaret Eddy
The trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed.
