listening to My Heart is Filled with Thankfulness by the Gettys :D

Well, I like listening to the Wissmanns…have you heard of them before? That's all I can think of right now. But I also enjoy listening to Talismann Scholars, Soundforth Singers and Orchestra and Majesty Music…but those are lots of people singing at the same time.

Just to pop in here for a moment (have to go soon) We actually know the Wissmanns :P! We went to the same church as them :)! They're a nice family :)!

I know…Jimmy told us at Nationals last year! I SOOOOOOOO wish I knew the Wissmanns. I got to meet them at Nationals but I don't actually know them.

I like the Getty's songs (most of them) but I don't like listening to them…

The Gettys are good, but a bit boring to me.

Okay. So kind of conservative choirs? lol….I don't know what to call them. :P

O.O You don't like listening to the Gettys????? I totally give up this endeavor. :P Do you not like Irish, Celtic, or Scottish music??

I like the Wissmann's music too. We just went to a camp where they were leading it with another family called the Bontragers.

No, it's an instrumental. I believe all the instruments are acoustic too, but you would probably call it "wild". ;)

UGH! Describe what's wrong with the way they sing! They don't even do much vocal fry and they're not really breathy which are typical things that annoy people. I KNOW! It's cause they don't sound like they're singing Baroque or some other proper choir style, isn't it?

Did you listen to the link that I gave you? There isn't any singing, it is just piano and cello.

Margaret – I know you like grammar, do you like spelling as well? Do you have any books you would recommend that has really helped you in this area?

Have you listened to Nearer My God To Thee and All of Me by the piano guys? I really like those two!

I do like spelling, but I mostly became a decent speller by participating in the spelling bee in 5th and 6th grade. I have read "How to Spell Like a Champ" and a couple other books, and actually studying vocabulary is very helpful.

Carissa….uh, yeah. What's wrong with that. There are some songs of their's that I don't really like, but there are several that are really neat.

I have listened to "Nearer my God to Thee" and I am listening to "All of Me". I like them both! (For different reasons, of course; They are completely different styles.)
I do not remember the author. I will try to find it, though.

I have not heard of the official SAT Prep Vocabulary lists. I am not really good at the piano, just moderately good. Do you mean classical, sacred, or just anything?

I feel the same way about the lead singer in the band Petra. His voice just doesn't really appeal to me.

Pictures at an Exhibition is fun, that is one of the few modern works that I like. Especially "The Great Gate at Kiev" and "House on Storks Legs". I really like to play Chopin and Rachmaninoff, but I am not great at sight-reading so a lot of those are too hard. Mark Hayes is probably my favorite arranger of hymns and such-like.
