Well, if we aren't counting Jesus, I really like Joseph. And I like Paul, especially when he is with Priscilla and Aquilla:)
Edit: I also like Epaphroditus, and Ebedmelech. But of course I like them all! Well… most all of them.

Yeah, no Sunday school answers… :P

My favorite person in Joshua.
I also like Joseph (of course) and Daniel.

My favorite person in the Bible is Joseph. I got to write an essay on his life last year in high school, which was pretty cool. :D

Joseph is AWESOME. It's a hard choice between Joseph and Joshua. That's pretty cool you got to write an essay on Joseph. I've wrote a lot about him, but not for school or quite organized like an essay :P

Jesus. Definitely my first, for sure.

Then Joshua and then…Paul and Timothy, probably. I don't really know for sure other than my first :)

Top three in order: Jesus Joseph (you can thank Sight and Sound for that one!) Moses (and, um, Prince of Egypt for that one)

S&S is why I like Joseph too :P (I'm sure you're surprised) I haven't seen Prince of Egypt though, but some friends were telling me about it :P

Hi Emily!

I like that my name is mentioned in the Bible…whenever I hear someone read it while reading the Bible, I always smile :) Anyone else do the same? :)

I love "Prince of Egypt". It's not exactly like the Bible story, but it warns you in a little message at the beginning that they had to add a little bit in order to dramatize the story. :-) I think you'd like it. I hope you would, anyway. And if you didn't that would be pretty much the first time we disagreed about anything.

I don't mind if they add more than is it the Bible. It sort of bugs me when they directly contradict it though. But I still watch and enjoy them :) But then I like Sight and Sounds better :P Have you seen the ten commandments with Charlton Heston?

Not really, I've gotten used to it. :P It might have helped that my name is also the name of one of the books of the Bible, though.

My mom says I did…more that ten years ago!!! So I don't remember it. :-( But they say that Prince of Egypt is a lot like an animated version of it.

"Abi" is a name from the Bible, even if it's just my nickname.

Yeah, in this one they made him like competing with Ramses for the throne. And then he basically got exiled instead of running away. And the slave that was being beat by an Egyptian was Joshua. And the 40 years in the wilderness are about five minutes long and they mix like all the stories together. And Joshua's "as for me and my house" line is when he takes over the leadership instead of where they're supposed to be. (but S&S did the same thing to Joseph, putting that one line where it's not supposed to be… oh well :P)

Wow…Prince of Egypt didn't change that much! Let's see what all I can remember that they changed…
Basic storyline:
Jocabed (Yocaved in the movie) takes Moses (in the basket, of course) to the river and Miriam follows him as it floats along the Nile and finally the basket ends up in the Queen's (not Princess') private pool, where he is found. Yocaved does not go to the palace to care for Moses. Ramases and Moses grow up together, and Moses gets Ramases into (and out of) trouble a lot.
More to come…

When Ramases and Moses are young men, Pharaoh sets Ramases as Head Builder/Architect at Moses' suggestion. Moses is given a slave girl from Midian, and he sets her free. He meets an adult Miriam and Aaron, and Miriam tries to tell him that he's not an Egyptian, but he doesn't believe her. That night he dreams about the events from when he was a baby, then wakes up and finds wall pictures and hieroglyphs that proved it all true. Pharaoh tries to explain that it wasn't wrong to have drowned the Hebrew babies, becuase they were just slaves. Ramases takes Moses on a tour of the building projects he is supervising and Moses sees an Egyptian slavemaster whipping an elderly Hebrew on some scaffolding. He tries to make the Egyptian stop and ends up accidentally knocking the Egyptian off the scaffolding, and the Egyptian dies. Ramases offers to pardon Moses, but Moses runs away into the desert.
More to come… :-)

Moses finds a well where a group of shepherds are trying to chase away the sheep of three young shepherd girls, and makes the older shepherds leave, then he promptly falls into the well. The girls' older sister comes and gets Moses out of the well and turns out being the slave girl he set free when he was still in Egypt. They get married (what? It's in the Bible!) and Moses becomes a shepherd. God appears to him in the burning bush and tells him to return to Egypt and tell Pharaoh to set the Hebrews free. Moses (and his wife) return to Egypt. Ramases (who is now the Pharaoh and has a son) is delighted to have Moses back until Moses tells him he has to let the Hebrews go.
More to come; sorry to take so long… :-I

Ramases hints to Moses that he is not welcome unless he changes his mind about freeing the Hebrews. The ten plagues begin. The final plague (the death of the firstborns) affects Ramases deeply, and he tells Moses to GET OUT. With the Hebrews, of course. Moses does, but Ramases sets out after them. Moses and the Hebrews cross the Red Sea, and Ramases' army follows them, but the Red Sea closes. The army is drowned, but Ramases was tossed back onto the shore and survived. The movie ends (a bit more dramatically, though, than how it sounds here.) So there you go. :-) I love the music in that movie.

It really is funny when he falls in the well. :-)

Lol, it sounds really cool! It ends with the red sea? Do they go through all 10 plagues? In the 10 commandments one, they do the Nile turning to blood (which is REALLY cool, lol) and Ramases sort of mentions some others when he's talking to Moses. Then they do the hail and fire, and then the death of the first born. Which is really creepy. There's this green mist stuff (that the green mist in VOTDT always reminds me of :P) that comes down and travels along the ground. And they made it so awful, because Joshua, well, wasn't in too big of a hurry to get out of there. :-/ :P I love the music in the ten commandments :P

It does the plagues in a sort of song. It shows them happening, but doesn't dwell on any of them except the Nile turning to blood and the death of the firstborn. The music in Prince of Egypt is AMAZING! You should see it sometime. :-D

Yeah, it sounds really cool! =D Have you seen the LEGO ten commandments that was done a few years ago for the SAICFF? it's really funny.

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

It is! And then they put in really funny things like in the plague of boils (I think) one of the LEGO Egyptians is like "I'm so itchy, I wish I had FINGERS!!!" :P

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

And when Moses throws down the ten commandments when he comes off the mountain, they all stop and look at him and blink. It's SO funny with the sound effects and everything!! :P

Uhhh, I know they did one on Jericho. I REALLY want to see it :P It could be the same people. Is Joshua in Prince of Egypt…? :P
