im confused……how many lord of the rings are there?

1. Three masterpieces of all thing awesome epic and amazing.

There will be three hobbits but the 2nd and 3rd haven't come it yet.. The 2nd ones out December 13th and I'm SOOO FREAKNG OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S GONNA BE SOO EPIC!!! Hopefully. Lol

I don't like them at all! I was just teasing her because she said they were epic which really means long. :)

The first extended is like 3 hours and so is the second and the third is 4hours :) pretty much everyone of those minutes is TTLY worth it!!!!

@Stefani: I think they're super dark and creepy and because they are so long….they seem like a huge waste of time to me. I much prefer Narnia movies, but I'm a lot more into Narnia than the others so…that could be why. ;)

Just so you know (and I'm not just saying this as like the biggest LOTR fan ever this is for real) The Lord of the Rings (the books) is considered one of (if not the greatest) literary works ever. Of all time.

No, I have not seen the hobbit movie, it is likely a waste of time, but I have read, the trilogy, watched the movies, and read the Hobbit.

Well, I've only ever had easy access to the movies, so maybe I should make a greater effort to find the books to read.

Not trying to mince words, but LoTR is not the same as the hobbit, and one can enjoy the Hobbit movie, and care nothing for the book, following trilogy, or surrounding material, and notes…

from what im seeing …..the hobbit is the prequel to the LOTR books……so im gona read it first….

I can pass on that first question thank you Stefani, and I have read LoTR, and the hobbit. My dad read LoTR to me previous to me reading it on my own. I have also read The Children of Hurin, which precedes the other books in Middle Earth's timeline.

Ok :) I'm enjoying your commentary very much :) u may want to continue it on the LOTR thread though cause it may get lost here ;) and yes The hobbit is a prequel to LOTR. Yhe hobbit tells about the adventures of Bilbo the finding of the ring etc. his 'adopted son' if u will (really his nephew) Frodo is the main character in LOTR..(well there r a lot of main characters in LOTR but he is main(est?) because he carries the ring)

The hobbit comes first yes but I read the trilogy first. :) they corolate in many many ways though so it might be cool to read the hobbit first. :) if you want to start at the very very very beginning you can read the Silmarillion….
