What did you think?

I agree. Plus, the whole reason they lowered the number of summer verses was to raise participation levels. If they increase verse count again, it will deter new people. =/
Zach Grissom
If they want to do a pair, 1&2 Thessalonians are about the only ones left.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Actually, talking to the many hosts that we know, they said that more people signed up, but then so many dropped out that they're getting less each year.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
I hope they do James!
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
You, know, it's not so scary in here :D
Zach Grissom
Yeah, people who aren't overly enthusiastic about their faith would look at even just 200 verses and say, "Forget it"
Zach Grissom
Why that one in particular?
Tori K
Yeah, the amount of verses at Locals was pretty wimpy this year...but I hope that if they increase the amount of verses, they don't do to much, because I don't know if I could make it to Nats and keep my job at the same time.
Same here. I may get a job next year, so I'm hoping they will decrease the amount of Nats verses and increase Locals just to even it out more, you know.
Tori K
To make pairs, they could also do Galatians/Philippians or Titus/James. Like 1 John and Ephesians weren't exactly "pairs" per se…
Zach Grissom
Yeah, but I'm not too worried about the number of Nats verses, because I only work in the summer, so what happens in the fall isn't such a big deal. But if they do like they were doing in 2011 and previously, there's no way I could do both, which I would hate.
Jarrett
I think uhhhh Philippians or James! I want a ''different'' book like Zephaniah or something like that!
Tori K
Zephaniah is hard! lol. They haven't used Old Testament books since 2009.
Tori K
Ah, that makes sense. :) Yeah, the 2009-11 format was pretty intense.
Zach Grissom
We'd be studying Hebrew instead of Greek. Might be confusing lol
Zach Grissom
Especially 09. I can sort of understand why 12,000 people didn't come back.
Tori K
We'd be studying Hebrew instead of Greek. Might be confusing lol
Haha yeah, I really doubt they'll use an Old Testament book.
The number of contestants has dwindled since '09. Since they increased Nats verses this year, probably a few more people won't return.
Zach Grissom
I don't know…the people that compete at Nats are the really enthusiastic group, mainly, and if you actually went to Nats, I don't see how you could not want to go back again.
Tori K
I did go to Nats, and thouroughly enjoyed the experience. What I'm saying is that some people may be able to do Nats if there are too many verses to fit their schedule. I could be wrong, of course :P
Tori K
Edit: may NOT be able to do Nats
Zach Grissom
Oh, I see. Especially any public school students, they probably can't twist their school schedule like a homeschooler could.
Christian Alexander
Heh. Tell me about it. I'm not public schooled, but I do attend a community vocational school for about 3 hours each day. Thus it was quite hard to "twist" my schedule to include ample time for studying.
Zach Grissom
I was lucky, I could make my schedule fit so just about all morning was spent on studying. And the week or so before Nats, I don't think I did any regular schoolwork.
Emily H
I incline towards the same opinion, though they did make us wave our hands in the air, not once, but twice!
smiles innocently I can in late and I didn't have to wave my hands at all. smiles
Christian Alexander
Yeah, I got out of just about everything the last week or so before Nationals. Unfortunately, I still had to go to my classes, so that consistently took a big chunk out of my day. =/
Jarrett
I DIDN"T WAVE MY HANDS!!!! :D:D:D
Christian Alexander
I did. >_> I am religiously obedient. =P
Jarrett
;)
Zach Grissom
My sympathies. Oh well, if you don't do great, it's not the end of the world. Besides, just making it to Nationals is an accomplishment.
Zach Grissom
Does waving once or twice around chest level count as waving?
Emily H
BEST BIBLE BEE YEAR YET!!! :D
^^ AGREED.
TOTALLY!!!
Zach Grissom
That's what I said last year…and this year did even better.
Emily H
I said the same thing last year too :)
Zach Grissom
So if it keeps getting better every year, what will it be like in 10 years?
biblebee
I did. >_> I am religiously obedient. =P
LOL!! I did it as well! :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
BEST BIBLE BEE YEAR YET!!! :D^^ AGREED.TOTALLY!!!
sniffs And I wasn't there!! :(
Emily H
I KNOW!!! I can't even imagine. It'll be so awesome…
Emily H
:( :( I was very sad about that :(
2 Corinthians 5:17
Aww…you're sweet! :) Thanks!
Zach Grissom
*sniffs* And I wasn't there!! :(
My sympathies.
Matthew Minica
Hopefully you'll be there next year… and it will be even better! Probably. Though I can't imagine anything much better than last week's experience.
Emily H
Idk…it was hard to imagine anything better than 2012…. :)
Zach Grissom
God's funny that way…you think He can't do any better and He surprises you.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Zach and Matthew: Thank you! I'm going to try my hardest! :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
What were the tests like???
Zach Grissom
Hard, as usual. For me, anyway.
The thing I found strangest was that there was only 3 questions on Greek words.
Everett C
The test was very easy, easiest test I've ever taken.
2 Corinthians 5:17
So I have 2 different answers :)
Zach, what divison are you in? Wow, only 3 Greek questions?!
Everett, really? You did awesome in Finals, BTW!!
Zach Grissom
Junior. And that's why he thought the test was easy, he's a finalist.
Matthew Minica
The test was very easy, easiest test I've ever taken.
My thoughts exactly! Oh, and @Zach - fyi, I was not a Finalist :P
Zach Grissom
True, but I'll bet you were close. I'm just not near as smart as most of the people at Nats, so the tests always seem hard.
