Memverse's 5th Birthday!!!

Thanks! takes a slice Wow, this is really good!
Emily H
Uh, yeah, what do you two want to talk about?
Sarah
It is pretty quiet, isn't it? I'm trying to party and work on a tri-fold display at the same time, so I'm probably not helping anything. :-P
Jason
Hello, I don't believe I have met you. I'm Jason!
Now that I mention it, I haven't met most of the people here. It looks like excepting me, there are only girls here now.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Rachel made it :)
What did you have for lunch today? :P
I had to have enchiladas with white flour tortillas and corn-feed chicken and cornstarch-coated cheese, because I've already skipped meals. At dinner last night, everything had corn in it!!!!
Emily H
Do you usually eat corn?
Sarah
Unless there's someone lurking in the darkness, it would appear that you are the only male here. I don't mind, though!
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Hi; I'm Eowyn/the-Junior-from-Alaska-who-is-no-longer-the-Junior-from-Alaska :)
Emily H
Hi Jason! Yeah, most everyone has left already.
Jason
Hello. The Junior from Alaska of what? And why aren't you?
Sarah
I didn't exactly have lunch, because I ate breakfast at 10:30. :-P For breakfast, I had a bagel with cream cheese.
Sarah B.
You live in Ohio? Did you ever do the Bible bee?
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
I'm trying to avoid all corn, because of the GMO's. Even though there is organic corn, I don't want to be eating it anyways, because the pollen can travel up to 50 miles. I'm trying to avoid all the other GMO crops, too, besides various pesticide-laden produce, and non-organic meat, too. Tough diet when you're on the road.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Hello. The Junior from Alaska of what? And why aren't you?
At Bible Bee Nationals, but I'm going to be a Senior this year.
Sarah
That sounds tough! We're the same way, except that Zeke is gluten free, so we do tend to eat quite a bit of corn. Mom rarely lets us buy anything unless it's organic, or at least certified non-GMO.
Jason
Wow, yes! How did you know? No, I have never been in the bible bee.
Emily H
Ah, okay. GMO is SO nasty! :( Yeah, I can't imagine trying to keep a very good diet on the road. :-/
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
For our gluten-free cooking, we generally use potato starch or flour, and tapioca starch. Oh, and coconut flour makes THE BEST muffins.
Sarah B.
Haha. I'm a bit of a spy. :) I live in the boondocks of Ohio. Are you in college?
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
The boondocks of Ohio??? Is there such a thing?
And because she's a 'spy', she deletes all her posts :P
Sarah
We should have all those. I think we must have pretty much every gluten-free flour on the face of the planet. :-P
Jason
Oh. You can click on my name… Like I just on your username. No, not for some years.
Sarah B.
The _boondocks_ of Ohio??? Is there such a thing? And because she's a 'spy', she deletes all her posts :P
Okay, "in the middle of nowhere!" is that better?
That's not true anymore… well, not really.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)

Well… cough, cough
Jason
No, I don't believe there is a such thing here. Is it like that in Alaska?
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Do you usually eat corn?
Oh, I forgot, popcorn is non-GMO.
Sarah B.
Yep! :) I wonder how close you live to us… and if I've ever met you before?
Emily H
Wow, really? We don't really eat any corn…
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
We have about a square mile of land for every person… And if we got rid of Anchorage, we'd be rid of well over half the population of the state! There are some millions of lakes… It's an amazing state over all :)
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Yeah, so popcorn's alright… unless you put corn-fed butter on it :P
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
sips my third cup of tea while waiting for conversation Anyone else interested in some?
Sarah B.
Are you/were you homeschooled?
Emily H
Haha, that's the one (well, one of many:P) thing that bugs me, even if we cut out all the corn, it'll be in all the dairy and meat, unless you find grass fed and then that's super expensive. :-/
Sarah
That sounds good!
Sarah
While we're on the subject of grass-fed, have you tried Kerrygold butter? It's grass fed, and I think you can get it from Costco. Everything is less expensive there because the packages are so big. :-)
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
It's not that expensive. Though, in AK, when we order our wonderful organic produce and stuff, it costs less than conventional in the stores. And we get moose and salmon, and we don't have to worry about them being cornfed, because we can't grow corn up there!
And, actually, when you look at fish, organic farm-raised is better than most wild (except Alaskan), because of the gunk in the water. Especially those Atlantic fish… gross!
Emily H
Ohh, we don't have a costco card. :P
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
What sounds good?
Yes, Kerrygold butter is really good, and even though it's not organic, you don't have to worry about it so much, because it's from Ireland. Have you tried their Dubliner cheese? It makes amazing grilled cheese sandwiches!
Sarah
The tea. :-)
Yes, we have! It's really good by itself, too. The first time we got it, my mom, Bethany, and I ate half of a big Costco brick in a single sitting. :-D
Emily: Okay. :-)
Emily H
Well, it adds up when you get everything raw and organic. xP I think it's worth it…but whatever :P
Yeah, I don't really like fish for the most part, and everyone except my dad doesn't eat it very much because of the mercury. :-/ Alaskan salmon is really good, that's basically the only fish I like.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
The tea. :-)
Want some?
Sarah
Sure, why not? :-)
I'm feeling very smiley today. :-)
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
You need to come visit us sometime, and then you'll get real, unprocessed, wild, Copper River Red (or sockeye) salmon, the best fish in the world, and the only fish besides halibut that I like!

Dear MemVerse,
When SavedByGrace first referred me to you, three years ago, I was immediately intrigued. When I became familiar with you, I began to enjoy memorizing Scripture like never before–and I had never known how easy it was! I would get on you every morning to memorize whatever chapter I was working on, and would always cherish typing out each verse, rating it, and finding out how much I remembered since the last time. Shortly afterward, I wrote my first blog comment guessing when we would get to 100,000 memory verses. The blog opened up a whole new world of wonderful people to me, and so have the forums, although I only began using them recently. And in 2012, my first year in Bible Bee, you were an essential tool. You have helped me draw closer to God! Thank you! Happy 5th birthday, and may you continue to bless for many years to come–till our Lord return!
Love,
On-Christ-The-Solid-Rock-I-Stand
P.S. A big, huge thank-you to the administrators for this free tool!
Sarah
Can I come? Can I come? :-P
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Sure, why not? :-) I'm feeling very smiley today. :-)
I noticed.
Why don't you join me in the tea room? Emily, you too; you could have some chocolate or something :)
Sarah
Sounds good! :-)
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
We're getting back in June! Anytime after that, you can come; we love company, and I really want to host someone instead of being hosted!
Emily H

Ohhh, I so wish that could happen! :D
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
It's only an eight-day drive from your house! :P
