Proof that too much classical makes you go crazy."I have heard music written in heaven- I shall write no more." ~Johann Pachelbel after he finished writing Canon in D....The dude thought he heard music written in heaven? :P
sigh Y'all can't even understand metaphors…
He was talking about Canon in D, his best piece of music ever. It was the last piece he wrote, because he knew he couldn't make anything better.

Or possibly they got the metaphor, but were being facetiously and/or intentionally obtuse.

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
Rose Tyler
Love that!

"I just couldn't bear the thought of people living in poverty and children sold into slavery. The thought disgusted me, so I shook my fist at heaven, and said 'God, why don't you do something?'
But He said 'I did. I created you.' "
~Matthew West

"So tired of talking about people living in poverty and children sold into slavery. The thought disgusted me, so I shook my fist at heaven, and said 'God, why don't you _do something_?' But He said 'I did. I created *you*.' " ~Matthew West
That would be better with 'Bryan Mills' on the end.
Matthew Minica
Why? Did he write the song, or did the quote originally come from him? (I have no idea who Bryan Mills is.)

The star in Taken, a movie about modern-day slavery.

Oh, okay. I can agree with you - it sounds like something a guy like that would say, but it is a quote from Matthew West. Have you ever heard his latest? Or wait, you're not a fan of that kind of music, huh? Figures.

Yeah, don't try to talk to Noah about contemporary Christian music. xP

I found this quote interesting. Tris doesn't claim to be a Christian, but I liked how the author of the book showed her thought processes here. This was during her first time experiencing air travel.
"I look out the window again, taking slow, deep breaths into a body too tense to move. And as I stare out at the land, I think that this, if nothing else, is compelling evidence for my parents' God, that our world is so massive that it is completely out of our control, that we cannot possibly be as large as we feel."
-Tris, Allgeiant

If anyone gets this quote other than Margaret, I will take my hat off to you and buy you a ukulele.

"Good morning!" said Bilbo, and he meant it. The sun was shining, and the grass was very green. But Gandalf looked at him from under long bushy eyebrows that stuck out farther than the brim of his shady hat.
"What do you mean?" he said. "Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?"
"All of them at once," said Bilbo. -J.R.R. Tolkien
God's Maiden of Virtue

I watched an hour and 17 minute long video about Eric Liddell on YouTube, and this quote by the narrator (author, David McCasland) stuck out to me:
"We enter the starting blocks of life not knowing the length of the race. Our life may be a sprint, or a marathon. We are not told in advance. All we can decide is how we will run."
Here is the link to the full video if you would like to watch it as well!
