2014 local BibleBee book?
Started by Justin GouldJustin Gould
What do yall think the book for the Bible bee will be this year?
Justin Gould
Philipians?
2 Corinthians 5:17
I'm going to guess Philippians, one of the Thessalonians, James, or Psalm 119. :)
Emily H
Galatians! Philippians! Part of one of the Corinthians! James! Thessalonians! Song of Solomon! xP jk I have no idea, they always seem to pick the one I'm sure it wont be. :P
2 Corinthians 5:17
I'm sure it won't be Song of Solomon xP xP
Emily H
Me too xP
Dani(elle)
I'm sure it won't be Song of Solomon xP xP
OH PLEASE NO! lol
2 Corinthians 5:17
I'm sure it won't be Song of Solomon xP xPOH PLEASE NO! lol
Haha, Dani!!!! I actually laughed out loud at your response xD
Margaret Eddy
Lamentations would be about the right length.
Emily H
That would be interesting to study!
Margaret Eddy
We could all write a five chapter lament over the loss of the oral round for an "Apply" section.
Emily H
Yeah!! I think you're on to something!
Margaret Eddy
I'm always onto something, but that hasn't meant that they will listen to me yet.
Sarah
Awesome idea, Margaret! :-P
Margaret Eddy
Thank you.
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
Part of a Gospel would be fun and different…
Emily H
True… oh well. It's still a good idea! :P
Margaret Eddy
Then we could write a 28 chapters on the "Good News" that they took out the oral round.
Emily H
I don't think I could think of enough Good News about no orals to fill even one chapter…
Margaret Eddy
I have a feeling that Lamentations would be more popular among the constants: we would only have to write 5 chapters, they would have to write 28.
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
In all seriousness, though, I would guess:
1 Thessalonians
James
Philippians
Galatians
Not necessarily in that order…
Zach Grissom
I would guess Galatians or Philippians.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
I'm hoping for Philippians- I just finished memorizing it today- but I think that with the way they worded it- Bible Study passage- that they might do an OT or gospel passage.
biblebee
They did that last year as well…but we still got an epistle…
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
I think, after observing us for five years, they know we're pretty smart, so they're doing everything they can to be unpredictable. And sometimes the most unpredictable thing to do is the predictable.
I leave you all to interpret the above statement to your own satisfaction.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
I know, but I think that's the idea that they're leading up to.
Justin Gould
what makes yall think it will be Philppians or Galations?
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
Because so far they have always done an epistle, and there are only so many epistles. Granted, at some point they will have to start repeating books, or move away from epistles, but whether they'll do that this year, or in the future is anyone's guess.
(except Mrs. McMahan, I suppose. She probably knows. ;) )
Justin Gould
Phillipians is about Paul and Timothy juacterst like 2 years ago so if they do that book we already know some stuff about those characters
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
True enough, but there are a LOT of parallels between Colossians (2010) and Ephesians (Nats 2013) so we can't necessarily rule it out as a possibility.
Courtney M.
I would guess Galatians or Philippians.
I don't think they'll do Galatians for a Locals book. It's a pretty hard book, don't you think?
Emily H
They could do Philippians for locals and Galatians for Nats! xP
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Yeah… lovely idea.
Courtney M.
They could do Philippians for locals and Galatians for Nats! xP
Don't know about that one. I'd rather have Philippians for locals and James for Nats! :P
Emily H
Ha, yeah, I don't think they'll do that :P That would be neat do do Philippians/James!!
Matthew Minica
hopes you're right
Sir Walter (Jimmy)
I'm hoping for James for locals and Philippians for nats. :)
Justin Gould
I hope they do
Courtney M.
James is kind of a harder book for locals though, don't you think? I think they'll save that one for nats. I might be wrong, though. It seems like we're always wrong in what we guess! XD
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
I dreamt last night that James was the book for locals. And I was super excited to find out, and then I woke up and was disappointed…
But last year I dreamt that the book was Hosea, so… I don't think it means anything except that I'm excited for the Bible Bee. :P
Justin Gould
maybe it will be that book!
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
maybe. :P Does anyone else dream about finding out what the book is? Or am I just weird?
Bethany Meckle
Um… not about what the book is, but I've had dreams about not having signed up yet and then our Locals is full and we can't go. As soon as I woke up, I was running for the computer! :D
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
Ah, Bible Bee stress dreams…I've had many different kinds. Most common for me was discovering the week of the Bee that there was a passage to memorize that I hadn't memorized yet. Either it had gotten lost, or I just hadn't seen it or something.
Late to locals, missing the flight to nationals, not being able to find the room where we were supposed to wait for oral rounds at Nats…the list goes on.
Bethany Meckle
Ha ha! I'm sure I'll start having those if I qualify this year. :S
God's Maiden of Virtue
Same here; I'm memorizing James presently :)
Justin Gould
I think I had some biblebee dream last year too:)
Courtney M.
Ah, then you will have an advantage if they choose it! :)
Courtney M.
Once I dreamed that all of us got our cards to memorize at the competition! We hadn't gotten them yet! We were speed memorizers, trying to memorize them all in record time. xP The dream got mixed up with a bunch of strange stuff though, like shooting our verses out of BB guns (which was somehow supposed to help us memorize them), a fat man who kept losing his dog's toy down a hill, paint cans falling into a lake, finding my name spot with a Courtney, but it was among the Ls instead of the Ms. I was quite disturbed over that part.
Later in the dream I found out that we still had a while to memorize them. :P

LOL!
