I think I read three (actually it might have been more like four or five), but I can't tell you how I managed to finish them! :P

But Jesus wasn't wimpy, lame, annoying, and completely incompetent in life.

Or unlike Elsie. Oh, and he wasn't tremulous. Augghh, that word's used about 100 times in each of the Elsie books :P

Maybe I'll be Millie Keith from the _Millie Keith Series_. They were written by Martha Finley, but are *so* different from the Elsie books, and *much, much* better. When you read them, it's kind of hard to believe that they were written by the same author.

Yes!

Only read 2 of them. :P And then I was done. XD
I read the first two, as well as two or three when she is an adult…I'm done with those books. facedesk Sooo unrealistic. :

Haha! xP No, we *never* get off topic! XD Do you have an opinion on either/both, since the subject has come up? xD

Well, since it's still being discussed, I like Pride and Prejudice, and I don't like Elsie.

I will refrain from writing an entire essay about them though. ;)

If I have a literary character, it will probably be a guy.

The Elsie books have plenty of romance, but it's completely and pathetically lame. I mean, Elsie's practically perfect (besides the fact that she's racist, and in the books that's looked upon as acceptable), EXTREMLELY boring, and a total wimp. Her husband doesn't even want her to hold her _own baby_ for fear that she will hurt her fragile self! That's what I call boring, lame, and pathetic.
She's also a legalist.

Mmmhmmm, that too.

REALLY? I didn't read that far; I've only read the first 3 books. My mom says she has the fourth book and will give if to me as soon as I clean my room and keep it clean :)

Blech! I've read the first 2 or 3, then read a couple of the later ones. But they're horrible :P

Okay. :) I've just heard that it is too much about that. I think I'd rather read a book about young women constantly talking about how they're going to serve the Lord, instead of reading that book that is likely to make me think too much about that kind of stuff.

But really, the girl on the cover had blonde curls, and I thought I remembered the book referencing her blonde curls, but maybe I am remembering incorrectly (it has been a very long time since I read the books), or maybe Mongoose has the Abridged Anti-Blonde-Curls addition. (I hate abridged additions, especially ones with an ax to grind. @Mongoose: Was Elsie one of the African American slaves in your addition?)

...and Elsie sucks.

O_O

Yes, Elsie was a very good little girl, but a wonderful example. I have learned many wonderful things from those books.

A wonderful example of lameness, perhaps.

I'm glad you have enjoyed them, but I myself find them quite repulsive.

Okay… we're kinda getting off topic. But whatever, we won't anymore, because I have to go. Bye! I would give you a hug but you would get really mad so I won't.

I'm Gertrude Van Alstyne from The Matchlock Gun. It's kind of a kids' book, I suppose, but it's really great and a true story and Gertrude is great!

I've finally decided my literary character! :P Katherine Elliott from Stepping Heavenward! Though, she hated it when people called her 'Katherine', and much preferred 'Katy'. xD
