Well, technically, he didn't commit the crime directly; but he told Watson to throw a smoke-bomb into Irene's house!

True. :P But in this one, he actually breaks into someone's house and steals something out of his safe, to keep the guy from destroying someone's reputation with it. The police actually ask Holmes later to investigate the case, and he refuses. xP

LOL xP Ironically, though, while they are still in the house, someone else comes in and murders the owner of the house, and so someone who sees Watson and Holmes fleeing think that they did it. :P
