@biblebee: Great job! I haven't started memorizing yet, but I'm going to try to memorize them all in about 4 days so that I can prepare for nats. : )

Question for you seniors out there: Did you find the transition between junior and senior difficult? I'm wondering what the chances are that I'll be able to get to nats again, because this is my first year as a senior.

Wow! You guys have been busy! I have some of the verses memorized already, but I haven't actually memorized any new ones. I'm planning on doing 2 - 3 extra lessons a week so I can have more time before Locals to review.

@emma, I personally did not find the transition difficult, but that might be because of the way God made me. :) I placed higher, but that was probably because I did more work. :) If you are having trouble with some of the questions, I find it helpful to look at a younger sibling's lesson. :)

@Bethany, I plan on doing my Sword Study on weekends as well, with the same goal in mind.

Ok, thanks! And, I'll have more time to focus on the SS anyway because of the change.

I did much better last year as a Senior than I did the year before as a Junior! Hopefully that makes you feel better… ;) I did better on the Orals, because I had all the verses memorized for a change. The test I think was harder for everyone, but I didn't notice a huge difference between Juniors and Seniors.

(I don't think I have a very good chance of qualifying this year because my orals is what I did well on before, but we'll see.)

Thanks. :) Okay.

I didn't find it hard. I still made it to nats my first year as a senior and did moderately well. :)

I placed higher as a first time senior then in my last junior year. :) I thought that the test was definitely harder though. :)

I've done 20 verses and plan to finish them this week. I also did 1 lesson and plan to do 2 ss a day and 3 on Saturday.

I didn't find the transition too difficult. The only thing that stood out to me was that the test was harder. But I still did better than I thought. :)

I am planning on doing both the Jr. and Sr. Sword Study in preparation for (hopefully) being able to make it to Nationals this year! :)
I am doing the SS 2x a day, Sat and Sun's too. Once I am done with the Jr, I will start on the Sr, so I have more review! :)
SO EXCITED!! I am on day 6 in the SS…=)

I think it's kind of funny that on the Group Leaderboard, ranks 3, 6, 8, 9, 11, 14, 43, 45 and 61 are all BB related, adding up to a Bible Bee total of 28,021 verses (meaning if we all were in one group, we'd take 1st place by 9,000)
Talk about splitting the vote =P

Tarshish was some sort of coastal town. Where it was is disputed. Some say it could be in Africa, others say a large island in thd Mediterranean. Some people say that it was in India, because of the peacocks mentioned in 1Kings 10:22, which are native only to India. Others, including Josephus, say it may be another name for Tarsus, because all the metals that were shipped from Tarshish, silver, iron, tin, and lead, were all found in the mountains near Tarsus, which is in Cilicia. Others even think that it is even Britain or America, while the Septuagint, Vulgate, and Targum say Carthage. Ezekiel 27:25 mentions it as associated with Tyre. It definitely traded with both Israel and Phonecia.

Tarshish was the second son of Javan. Also, some people say that the ships of Tarshish mentioned in various places in the Bible were simply large vessels that could sail on the open sea and both sailed and rowed.

I only did Day 2 today. Thing is, it's only 10 weeks long anyway, so even if you do one a day without weekends, you still get done two weeks early and have time to review.

Very true! Right now, I'm taking it one day at a time, focusing more on the extra-curricular stuff like memorizing Jonah, the cross-references, studying the book, outlining and paraphrasing, making test questions, and stuff like that. :P

Does anyone know why ESV07 doesn't have the correct Psalm 105:3? When you go to "Add Verse" and type it in, it comes up with the same thing it says for Psalm 105:4. I had to get the ESV version. Also, which is closer to the ESV the BB uses: ESV or ESV07?

Mathew, I am planning on finishing my junior study and starting a senior one, do you think that will help me in the BB?
