It seemed to go well. The test was much easier than last year and I took my time and finished it with five minutes extra. I doubt that I will get less than 500, but probably won't get much over that, either.

There were a few cross reference questions that I would have had a better chance at getting right if they had been more "in my version", but I think I did get most of them right.

Did anyone have a local "competition" in which you each received a place and/or prize?

Ahhh, this local Bee was the best but TOO short!!! Thanks to Everett for giving us the 20 sec per question rule :) . It worked! All 4 of us finished our test together for the first time, but only one of us placed (Senior 5th)....Not sure if I'll make it into Nationals or not, but studying Jonah for my last time in the Bee was super fun. BTW, Matt Minica, we saw you and your clan today at FEAST :) . Congrats on placing 1st again! Sorry, we didn't get to speak to you guys today. Hope everyone has a splendid rest of Saturday.

We did! :) No prizes, though - unless you count certificates.

Well, she tied with Courtney for 2nd, so that speaks for the majority of what I know of how she did. :) I'm really hoping she makes it though… ^mostly because if she doesn't, Courtney doesn't :P JK^

Nationals is really fun!! The competition is really stiff, the memory verses and the study are both very hard. It takes up a lot of time, but in my opinion it is totally worth it! Even for the fellowship, if nothing else!

Yeah, the fellowship with fabulous kids (such as yourself :P) is a blast, but we WERE concerned about all the time studying for Nationals might take up - time which we can't devote because of starting college early and such like. However, we still are aiming to attend Nationals…forever hoping! And what was your favorite memory passage from this year?

That certainly makes sense. It would be okay if you went to Nationals just because you wanted the experience, not necessarily trying to make it to Semi-Finals or anything. A lot of people do that, actually! :)

Let's see… It would be a toss-up between Joel 2:12-13 and 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. I really like the way Joel says "rend your hearts, not your garments" - repentance must be true and from the heart! And 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 I never really thought before as the sacrifices that we can still give to God. It's an interesting take on that passage!

O.K. We would go just for the experience, but our parents aren't really the travel without a "purpose" type, so we have to learn how to drive first and not too late before we all grow into adults and appear stalkerish or something :P. Actually we're supposed to be journeying to Scotland in December, but that trip is still in the works…Have you ever been overseas yet?

We loved the "rend your hearts, not your garments" portion of Joel too! That was so powerful. I was going to draw a depiction of it, and if I make the time to, I'll post it on this forum. We all knew 1 Thess 5:16-18 from years ago. Other than that, our favorite was 2 Chronicles 14:11 - Asa's prayer.
