December 23, 2014 - The MV scribe, Carissa, Nicolas and Christian were engaged in a ridiculous conversation regarding movie quotes from Nemo, Horton Hears a Who, National Treasure and other various movies. Had a debate on whether on not the quote was "an edible meatball" or "an edible parade" Apparently, the MV scribe was wrong, which she asked forgiveness over. You can read the conversation on SC December pages 383-403.

Personaly think this is totaly absurd, and if any one was "ruleing" memverse it would be Alex and Andy.

Just because one is a foreigner doesn't mean he can disregard the laws of the country he's in. Translation: If you don't want to obey the rules, stay off the forums.
Kidding, of course. I never pay attention to any of the laws either. :P

Personally, I think that the rule of Alex and Andy is more… _divine_, than kingly. But I quite agree with you. :)

Most of us are either introverts or just really shy, the MV forums help us get over the Homeschooler syndromes.
Personally its has also helped me with spelling and typing.
Also most of us don't see the time as wasted since most of us can work on projects and things between posts.
But what is meaningful to you?

I don't care to argue with you but I will make a few points… We weren't 'being bad' on the blog, thank you very much. Also, MV forums have really helped me - I've been able to make new friends (which I never would have done in real life) and interact with them. The theology discussions have helped me think about what I believe and discuss it with others. These people on here are my friends…the best and closest friends ever. I've learned so much from them. I do not see that as a waste of time. I've been challenged, through them, to be more diligent in pressing on, in the BB, and in many different ways. They are wonderful examples to me and I thank God constantly for them.

Yes, we have weird conversations on here. Yes, we have a 'government'. Yes, we talk about many different things on here. Could we be using our time better in discussing spiritual things? Yes. Could we be using out time better offline instead of on here? Yes. Is it wrong though to be on here? No. But let me ask you. Do you always do something profitable and never waste a moment of your time? Do you ever get on here? Yes, you do. In telling us that we are wasting our time you show that you yourself just wasted time. Why do you get on here if it is a waste of time? Go stop wasting time and do something profitable…every single second!

I would like to know who you think are the normal MVers. The ones were aren't bad and time-wasting.

To point out…this was totally unnecessary in the first place. You weren't in the 'government' in the first place and probably never would have been if you hadn't ever asked. (Of course now that you mentioned it you'll probably be placed in it.) But again, thank you for your kind opinion of us bad, crazy, time-wasting, not-normal MVers. It is greatly appreciated.

I would like to say, though… When I first joined MV I was much the same way as you are being…thinking it was a waste of time and all that. But when I got to know everyone here and talked with them they pointed out that I was wrong in thinking that way. There are times when we can relax and stuff. So, I ask you, please, unless someone really is being bad, don't say that we are…merely because we spend more time on here than you do. Frankly, it's being judgmental. Is it okay to express your opinions? Yes. Is it okay to express your opinions while making a sweeping judgment on others that isn't true? No. And that is what you've done. So, please…try to understand before making such sweeping accusations. Thank you.

Please forgive me if I have been harsh in this response. I'm not trying to be harsh…just wanting to tell you a few things.

DITTO!!!!! Agree 100%! Spending time with friends should not be called a waste of time! Fellowship is a good thing!

Look, I didn't say all of that, and I am not actually judgemental. But now I think now I need to leave before the whole world descends on me for questioning the existence of the "memverse government" xp (and that is all I meant to do) Because I was saying it as a memverser myself not at or against memversers. I love memverse, everyone on here, and what we do. But we can't look at someone on here like they are anything else but one of us when they are using memverse more like what we should use it as, (which is, discussing matters related to our beliefs, and helping each other learn more, kinda like a online church family, right guys?) Because I was questioning something we do does not make me judgemental in a bad way, we should always be judging how we live, and now that we have our "online church family" we can help each other as we do it, and not becomeing angry over it.

Yes, we've had arguments but those have been taken care of. On here we are following that verse. Yes, we do fall sometimes though. Something we all need to work on. :)

I totally understand why you feel this way about us here on the forums; to someone not familiar with our banter, we can look pretty strange. :P But it's not as bad as it may seem on the surface. For one, our MV Government is not as "official" as it may seem; we don't treat anyone differently based on their position in the government. It's just something fun we came up with to be funny. :D And please don't feel like you can't talk about what you like to talk about on here–because on Memverse, we talk about everything! :) We could indeed be spending our time doing better things much of the time; but we could always be doing something better than what we're doing. What we do on here is relationship-building fellowship which I believe is, overall, honoring to God. We don't always treat each other the best, but we're trying, by God's grace.

If you're willing, we'd love to have you on here more! You're more than welcome to pop on whenever you want, and we'll try our best to make you feel at home. This really is an amazing community of Christians; you just have to get used to our quirks. ;)
