talling about sparing swords? a friend of mine had two like this... !http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31FV5MB5DWL._SY300_.jpg! hard, indestructible plastic. I took bleeding woulds to the head and hand + serious bruising. they are why better then foam but me thinks the wood ones are better balanced.

I have one, but I don't use it. Too heavy; I'm a rapier person. ;)

^sorry I was AFK^ The balance is off so they feel heavy. The Technics used with the long sword are vary different from the rapier, so I get personality thing. but I still recommend having experience with the guards and basic cuts of the longsword.

That's true; I should know at least a few guard stances.
