Not that I recall.Did they have the Death Tolls when you were in the Bible Bee too?Thank you for assuring me, I have long wondered about that very feeling. It has haunted my thoughts for many years, and I am immensely relieved to have it explained so clearly. What, the funeral bells? :PAh yes, the death toll bells. They also gave me this feeling at the opening ceremony that when I bent my head for Mr. McMahan to put on my medal there was someone behind me getting ready to chop off my head. Not a very pleasant feeling, I can assure you.
You didn't. ;)
2 Corinthians 5:17
I have to leave now. Bye friends! =(
Sarah B.
Will someone please tell S that I would very much like to chat with him here sometime?

Did you go in 2013?My stomach went in such knots that I was a coward and didn't even go to the semifinals and finals.xP xD It always makes me shiver and makes my stomach get in knots. xPLOL! I...have never thought of it that way. :P xDWhen finals starts... and they play those bells... and it sounds like someone died. :PWhat, the funeral bells? :PThe funeral bells? :P
I went to Senior finals, and in 2012 I went to Senior semi-finals, but my knees were knocking together the whole time, and I did have a lovely knot going in my stomach. In 2014 I was avoiding waving my hands in the air via absence.

For Senior Semi's I sat with the 3 oldest Alexanders, Ian, Rachel Mitton, and Nicole Price. We had SO much fun...Christian had a kindle so he was following along with the contestants and would tell us, if the verse wasn't in one of the versions that we knew it in. ;)xD I got to do that this year and it was so much fun. xD But I still got that same sick feeling. :POh you poor girl. XD I was always too busy discussing what the answer is with my friends. XDxP xD It always makes me shiver and makes my stomach get in knots. xPLOL! I...have never thought of it that way. :P xDWhen finals starts... and they play those bells... and it sounds like someone died. :PWhat, the funeral bells? :PThe funeral bells? :P
That's so fun!!! xD Remember Junior semis, when you invited us to sit with you, and my parents weren't back…? Well, they didn't end up coming back till like the very last round or something. So I sat with my brother and Emma O (whose mom was with my parents) and we got to follow along on her phone for most of the contestants. It was a lot of fun, and helped me settle down. xP xP

Death and Taxes. Actually, Death and Bible Bee, which is about the same thing.

Am I correct in assuming that this conversation then arose from the quote, "All in life is uncertain except death and taxes"? Or is this quote entirely unrelated?

To those only slightly acquainted with Comrade Jackson, many of her remarks seem unrelated.

Well! It was a complete guess. But I suppose that I have not heard those two words so closely related except in connection with that quote, so it really wasn't such an amazing guess.

It was a metaphor wrapped in a hyperbole, lying in a manger.
Matthew Minica
HYPERBOLE! That's the word I keep looking for these past few days! xP

The real homeschooler question is, can you pronounce it properly?
Matthew Minica
There's been a couple instances lately where my family members were using hyperbole and I wanted to point it out, but I could not for the life of me think of the term.
