Um... well, I've only heard it from second-hand sources, so I can't say for certain (sorry). I'd assume more directly though, because our great grandmother on our mom's and grandmother's side has the last name "Arnold." That doesn't have to mean anything, but if we're related to him, I'd guess that's how.
