Read Romans 11-12 today. Romans 11 is about the Gentiles coming into the faith as well as Jews. It was really good to consider the beauty of that chapter and how amazing it is that I get to be one in God's family, even though I'm so undeserving. And man, Romans 12. Can't say enough about that chapter either. The command at the beginning to have our lives as a sacrifice to God is so convicting because it takes moment by moment thought of how we spend every minute of our lives for the Kingdom. And then all the commands at the end... I could take weeks just studying them all because they are so good. Especially was challenged by the part that said "Outdo one another in showing honor..." Definitely a lot to think about in those chapter. Ooooo. And the end of Romans 11 - I feel like expressing those verses back to God after spending time with Him each day because of how much He has done for me. The love, grace, patience, faithfulness that He daily shows me is so beyond my comprehension.

Gotta love Romans. :D Very good chapters, both of those. Can't wait until I get there in my Bible reading. :D

Well, when there's nothing else to talk about... :P
.......bother. :P
Oh! Where are you in your Bible reading?
I read part of Job today. Job lost everything and yet he still trusted God. You? :)

Cool! :) I've been reading 1 Samuel. I should be in 2 Samuel by now, buuuut… I'm a little behind. :P Mainly what I've gotten from it is how important self-examination is–because even someone like Saul, who was great at first, can completely turn around because he didn't stay faithful to God. And also, God's sovereign protection of David from Saul. :)

I know, right? So good. Got to read Romans 9-10 last Sunday and woooooooow. I could have talked and talked about those chapters. I'm immensely enjoying my Bible reading plan and getting so much out - both theology and much practical application.

Well! _You_ come up with something then! :P Greetings, BTW. ;) It's my last day here for two weeks, if you didn't hear. :P
If humanity were to just decide that govenment sucks and that we need to restart, what would a new world order look like? KK. Have fun leaving. We'll be happy when you're back. :)

All of humanity? Well, that's the thing about most humans… they just learn to live with what they've got, unless somebody powerful and inspiring tries to change things. :P But I'll think about it a little more. ;)

I will not have fun leaving, but I'm glad you'll be happy when I return! :P

Well, I dunno if Christian's mentioned his reading plan to you, but I'm doing the same one. We didn't realize it till later that we were on the same one. 7 different places each week that you're reading, 1 place each day - Romans, Matthew, Genesis, Joshua, Job, Psalms, and Isaiah. Learned some really neat things about how the Bible fits perfectly together that I hadn't noticed before!

I think, since by that time most if not all world powers will have collapsed under their own weight, at first there would be a lot of city-states, but then someone very ambitious would organize a new unified army and govenment, most likely with strong flavor of democracy since people would both want a leader and hate being told what to do. ;)

Hm… maybe, maybe. But I don't know… anyone who gets to that position, according to history, almost invariably becomes a tyrannical dictator. He'd have a loyal army and secret police, and would crush any dissent. That's how it always seems to work. :P

I just said "with a strong flavor of democracy". I think the people would be a bit too wary of single leaders here. More like a Parliment or something.

I know that's what you said. But the common people… wary? The common people by that time will be clamoring for any sense of order, and some charismatic propagandist will rise up to rule them the way he wants.

Perhaps over the original new city-states, but I think that as they combine, they'll form a more encompassing government. Order yes, but the people won't want a return to the days of the government doing whatever they wanted and ignoring the people.
