I know that's what you said. But the common people... wary? The common people by that time will be clamoring for _any_ sense of order, and some charismatic propagandist will rise up to rule them the way he wants.

Perhaps over the original new city-states, but I think that as they combine, they'll form a more encompassing government. Order yes, but the people won't want a return to the days of the government doing whatever they wanted and ignoring the people.

I think that by that time, people will be too stupid to know what's good for them, honestly. :P They'll know what kind of government they don't like, but they won't know how to go about changing it or stopping somebody from continuing it. And they'll be easily swayed by someone who says he'll be different, even if he'll only be worse.

Oh, Nicolas. You could mention to Christian sometime I put the link on his profile to the G3 conference… since he seemed somewhat interested about hearing when it came out. All the official sermons preached there are on the link.

Well… the first option is weakness on the part of the Christian (see Matthew 10:37), and the second is pretty lame… you can do that outside Catholicism, and even if you can do it better inside, the bad things about doing that outweigh the good things…
