Okay…after two days I'm a Spotify fan. :) That place has a lot of really high-quality vocal art music. Life is changed. I'm keeping Spotify.

So…. I finally get around to downloading Spotify… and i get this: 'this file 'spotifysetup.exe' ^or something like that^ may be harmful to your computer do you want to continue or discard?' . So i discarded it. So anyways I want to know, is that normal? or did it not say that to y'all? ^sorry if i'm not making sense^ ;)

That's normal for executable (*.exe) files that are unfamiliar to your computer. As long as you trust the publisher, you can run it. It's more of a safeguard for executable files that may infect your computer with a virus - Spotify won't do that, unless you're at the wrong website. :P

Yeah, don't worry about it. That's a natural reaction from your computer. It's just making sure you're extra careful. ;) I got the same thing, and there's nothing to worry about.

Yep. Spotify is safe, but you always want to be careful when downloading something you're not sure about. :)

So everyone hates spotify, then loves it?

I really like it, at least on my iPad. For the iPad app, I still have to use the shuffle mode, but I can individually search and select each song I want to listen to. Unfortunately, no such luck on the iPod. You can't select the music that yiu want, and it only gives me 5 skips. Any suggestions? I think it might just be the app, but I'm not sure.

Kinda.

I use iTunes mostly, but if I want to spy/listen to music, it's more processor-friendly to just use Spotify.

But then, Spotify doesn't have all my music, so I tend to like iTunes more.

For me at least, it's more of a 80/20 relationship.

Raising a family is something you only get one chance to do, and your parents want to do it right.

I'll say I've benefited from not having a tv in the house.

Does Spotify allow you to choose the music you listen to? My dad told me Pandora doesn't. Also, does Spotify have many ads?

Yes it does (though the app only does to some extent). Spotify does have ads, but personally I've never been bothered by them.

Pandora allows you to make stations of different artists you like (I have Mozart, Piano Guys, and Bach, to name a few). They will play music from that artist, but also play some from other artists. If you like a song, you can thumbs it up, and if you don't like it, thumbs it down, and it will never play it again. You do have a limited amount of skips per day on the free account, which I don't exactly like. xP

Spotify, on the other hand, does allow you to choose what songs you want to listen to, build playlists. share songs with friends, etc. I really like the wide selection of music they have…you can find just about anything on there (Jordan Strang is even on there, Lol xD ). You can select songs to play, or select an album or playlist.

Both websites play ads, but I haven't really been bothered too much by them. ^Of course, I'd prefer them not to be there at all, haha. XD^ Sometimes they will give you 30 minutes of ad free music, which I always jump at. XD I highly recommend Spotify…I've been very pleased with it. I like Pandora too, but I'm still "building stations", aka weeding out music I don't like on certain stations.

Two "Grooveshark" sites before this new one have been put up and taken down. This isn't new, and it'll probably be taken down soon too.

Also, why would any of us want to go back to Grooveshark when we've moved on? We won't be able to recapture the times we had there. Let the past be the past.

I knew you would feel that way, Sam. I just thought it was important for Memverse to stay informed. No need to bash me for it. :P The fall of Grooveshark really disappointed you, huh?
