It didn't help that the next night, I went out with just two of my friends to a concert that they were performing in. Not to mention that that was the first time I had actually been by myself in that sort of setting. XD

I think the kit lens only goes down to f/4.5 at 18mm.

It's buffalo, NY. Nothing terribly major, but it is kind of scary, since most of them happened in a fairly 'safe' area.

I only got my camera recently, and the only lens that I've ever gotten is the kit lens that I decided to buy with the camera. I'm hoping to get either a telephoto or macro lens in the near future though! :D

Exactly. I live in Plymouth, which typically is a very safe environment. Thankfully only two people died, but it could have been a lot more, he apparently was shooting at cars on the freeway when police arrived at the second scene.

I would highly recommend both the telephoto and the fixed lens that I'm getting. They're fairly inexpensive and good lenses for starting out and learning the technical aspects with. What camera do you have?

I have the Canon EOS Rebel SL1. I'm very pleased with how everything is set up, and the ease of use of the touchscreen. Hbu?

Wow… Our world these days. This guy here in Plymouth initially attacked a single target who he know, but then fled to an apartment complex where he was threatening people inside, and then proceeded to shoot at cars on the highway.
