I think the ban on politics is referring to modern politics, which makes history completely okay.

I've done a little study on it, yes. Was definitely a crazy time in the beginnings of our nation, but when they finally worked together, amazing stuff happened.

Anyway, so what I was really getting at was this: if you'd lived back then, do you think you would have been a Federalist or an Anti-federalist? xP

I did. I learned a lot from them, but they weren't exactly the most exciting thing to read lol! I don't remember all that much from reading them now, but I think there are both pros and cons to the issue. Having a strong federal government was probably necessary then to transition America from being a subsidy of England to having it's own democratic republican form of government, yet the power can obviously be highly abused, as we see in today's culture. How about you?

Haha, Madison had quite the vocabulary. :P Yeah, I'd probably be mostly a Federalist but a little bit Anti-Federalist… it doesn't matter now; I just think it's interesting.

I thought it was great! He does a great job of speaking fast and getting a lot of material covered in a short amount of time. ;P We have some of his history DVDs from earlier that we've listened to. He's a great historian, although it seems that he spends 90% of the time talking about what's wrong with modern history instead spending most of his time telling how it should be. At least that's how he is in his videos, to me. But his presentation at nationals was great!
