Oh, I see, haha. I'm pretty well! I've just been doing random things around the house today, haha. How are you? How's studying?

Okay. Yes, Saturdays are kind of like that :). I'm doing well. Studying is going fairly well, though I'm feeling some stress with today being a week until test day :). I'm just trying to trust in God that He is in control and not worry about the outcome. I want to do better than I've ever done before, but that is unlikely, and it's making me realize that God has ALWAYS been sovereign and it's only going to be His mercy if I do as well as I want. Sorry for my rambling… :)

When do you start back to school? Will this be your last year?

Oh, I used to feel like that before the test too (although I didn't get nearly as nervous for Locals as I did for Nats)! Looking back though, I see that some of my biggest disappointments in BB were actually some of God's biggest gifts. I know people have probably told you this a hundred times, but remember that God's plan is always better, even if we don't understand it. :) Don't be too nervous though; I'm sure you'll do fine! ;)

School starts in three and a half weeks, and yep, this'll be my last year of highschool. What about you?

Thanks for the encouragement! Yes, I've been told that many times, but I don't think that I can hear it too often :). I agree with that so much! Not making it to semis and game show in 2014 (my last year in Juniors) was a big disappointment to me, but I can see now how it was really for my good and prepared me for making it to semis last year. It made it easier to be humble through the whole thing (not that I was as much as I should have been! :)), having experienced trying for semis and not making it. And my whole Bible Bee experience has really manifested to me that I can do nothing on my own and God is completely sovereign over everything. But that seems to be something that I have to re-learn each year :).

We start in two or three weeks, I think. This will be my Junior year. What subject are you looking forward to the most?

Yeah, I still struggle with it, haha. It's one of those things that's easy to say when everything's great and hard to believe when things fall apart.

Well, I'm taking college classes this year… so maybe the New Testament class? Not really sure, haha. What about you? :)

So true. I've been thinking about "Blessed Be Your Name" a lot lately. I don't know all the words, but there's a verse that says something like, "When the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say, 'Blessed be the name of the Lord.' " To non-Bible Bee-ers, not making it to Nationals, semis, finals, etc. may not seem very similar to darkness closing in :), but when you're a contestant, it's really easy to get wrapped up in the competition and with wanting something that may not be God's will. I have to remind myself that God is going to do whatever sanctifies me the most…and when I think that, I feel pretty certain that I'm not making it to finals, haha :). But God can use pleasant things to sanctify just as well as unpleasant.

Delie (my sister – you knew we are sisters, right?) just took a NT class! :) That sounds like a lot of fun! Well, for the fall I'm not doing anything very fun for school if I qualify :). But in the Spring, I plan to take a class at the Christian university that my dad teaches at. It will be a social study, but I haven't decided what yet. I'm thinking either theology or physiology, which I know sounds really weird, but I'm interested in personalities and things like that, so it sounds intriguing. I'm a little interested in counseling, though I'm not sure that I would be any good at it :). I guess I have experience with my little brothers :D.

Yeah, exactly! The competition really isn't terribly important when you put everything in perspective, but it sure feels like it is when you're in the middle of it. :P

That's cool! (Yeah, I knew Delie's your sister. ;) Did she take the class from the university your dad teaches at? Haha, I just CLEPed Intro to Sociology… that was enough social science for me! :P That's cool that that kind of thing is interesting to you though! Have you ever taken a class like that before? How many little brothers do you have?

Yes, she did. No, I've never taken any college classes or really studied anything like that. I have six younger brothers, ages 14 to 2 and a half! They're adorable (or at least the younger ones are :)). How many siblings to you have? Is it something like four?

It was a Christian version of Robin Hood. It was the summer production that the acting group I was telling you I'm in last week did. :) I just couldn't do the summer production because I would've had to miss too many rehearsals. :)

I'm doing well :). Yes, very excited!!! Have you finished the Discovery Journal and verses yet?
