Uhhhh, because he sounded like he was being completely sarcastic and ridiculous!

Yeah, I personally believe women and girls are much prettier when they focus on their natural beauty instead of caking makeup on their faces, but not all girls who wear makeup wear a crazy amount of it.

Just…never mind. I'm still rolling my eyes about what he said and because of the ignorant way he said it.

I'm trying really hard not to be so exasperated…..it's hard.

First of all, if you're gonna do one, do the other as well. And don't go moderate. When the 5 inch thick makeup job is done, start with rings. Finger rings, toe rings, earrings, noserings, tonguerings, tangerines, eyeball rings, boxing rings, rings around the Rosie.

Yeah, THIS is why I hope he's kidding.

Complete sarcasm, anyone? I hope he doesn't truly believe all that.

Oh, and where in the Bible did you find this??

That's just Noah's way of being extremely satirical. I have a feeling he has a strong aversion to makeup and jewelry most of the time. :P

If you're reading this, stop where you are. Turn of your computer or device. Leave MV, and come back when you can tell when someone is being sarcastic. That may be in 5 days, that may be in 5 decades. If we remember you, know that your patience has paid off. If we don't know who the LEGO you are, then know that your striving was all in vain.

Good day.

Actually, you don't really know who the "LEGO" I am right now, to be perfectly honest ;)

And why do you assume I'm using a computer?

And that's what I'm a little confused about in the matter of sarcasm. How do you know that all the people listening to you know you are being sarcastic? If they don't know, then you are practically lying. Practically….

Emmy

Well I don't usually use sarcasm around people who just don't get it (and if I do it's probably not right). Most people who understand sarcasm use it themselves.

However, in this situation I'm rather confused as well. I wasn't being sarcastic about what I said to… is it Noah? I kinda don't think he was being sarcastic either, and I completely disagree if he was being sincere. I just said that it sounded sarcastic because he made it sound like if anyone wears just a little makeup or jewelry, they should just wear it in globs and pierce themselves everywhere. That's pretty ridiculous to me.

But I'll be happy to drop the whole thing, since I'm not sure all this is totally worth it. ;)

No, Noah was being sarcastic; it seems to me that he dislikes makeup and jewelry for the most part, and so he satirized it by saying that one should wear them in… extreme excess. :P

I don't think there is anything wrong with wearing makeup - in moderation of course. My mom has only ever used makeup to enhance the natural beauty that she already has, not cover it up to make her look like someone else. Sometimes you can't even tell she has makeup on because she uses it right, without a bunch of weird colors and heavy black. So I'm okay with wearing a little bit of makeup… and it is a makeup that uses only natural ingredients.
I'm not big on jewelry… I don't think anything is wrong with it, bracelets and necklaces just bother me and bracelets tend to get in my way. :P so I really only wear my earrings and a purity ring.
Just a question… do any of you have purity rings, and if so, which hand do you wear it on?

I've never been pure, so naturally I don't have one.

Yep. :) Oftentimes what we argue about is not at all worth it. I guess usually if you would argue about it in 50 years, it might be worth arguing about. xP

I have a purity ring…but it doesn't fit me yet. Lol! My Grandpa just gave my younger sister a ring (which he got at a yard sale) for her birthday, but it's too big for her, so I where it ;) It's sorta a substitute for my real purity ring until it's small enough to fit one of my fingers.

I wear my current ring on my right middle finger (even though I'm right handed). I don't know, I just like it on my right hand ;) It doesn't fit my ring finger yet, so that's why I where it on my middle finger. Yep, I've got really slender fingers!

I completely agree! My mom has NEVER worn makeup that I can remember (not that she needs it!). I put on a bit of mascara a few days ago, and that didn't go too well. My mom wasn't pleased, and doesn't want me wearing makeup till I'm 16 (except for plays).

I respect that and will obey. But what can I say? I'm a blonde. As my sister said, "Hey, it's nice that we can at least see her eye lashes!"

So, yeah. I don't think I'm ugly or anything, but I probably will where a bit of mascara every now and then when I'm 16. Not to be vain, but I don't think it's wrong to add a touch of darkness to my eyes ;)

As you said, I believe that makeup in moderation can be tasteful and appealing; however, globbing it on isn't so nice :(

And my mom prefers that I wait to even use it in moderation, so that's fine too :)

@I'm4given (Sarah): I do not have a purity ring, but my parents did give me a ring on my 13th birthday last year to replace my baptism ring that I had outgrown. I wear it on my right ring finger.
If I had a purity ring, I would likely wear on my left ring finger, to symbolize my commitment to keep my heart pure, and allow my dad to guard my heart if/until I get married.
Since we're on the topic of rings…do any of you have a baptism ring?
I know that is a lot less common, so I'm interested to know if any of you do.

Being dark around the eyes is awesome. Ask any street fighter. Or boxer. And me as well, for that matter.

I'm trusting my particular set of skills and a thick chestbone to protect my heart; I don't think its nice to use your father as a human shield.

Or Blacklist. You can do that in Blacklist. And just about every other TPS game there is.

@Sam and Noah: Glad you guys understand. *facedesk* @Emmy: Well, it's a thin silver band, with a pink/peach stone - called Oregon Sunstone - resting on a rose.

Pretty! And my purity ring now fits! Yay! There's a dainty silver heart resting on a narrow, patterned silver band. It's really lovely =D

I wouldn't mind a little in moderation, although I don't know when/if I would be allowed. Also, I'm not a typical blonde - for being blonde, I have dark eyelashes! :P

If Christian ladies wear makeup to make themselves seductive, that's bad. I don't think they should wear so much that it totally changes the way they look; but that's just my preference.

If a woman is wearing more makeup than clothing, that's wrong!

Agree with you there. My sister just resonantly started making homemade makeup… and so for the first time since I was born I wear lipstick.
