This looks very interesting!!! I think I'm definitely going to audition, if for no other reason, then because the Finals are in my hometown!!!! xD

(Of course, that doesn't mean I won't try to make Semi-Finals… xD)

I think I'm going to be trying for it, too. It looks fun, and it has definitely gotten me more motivated because I don't think I have much chance of getting to semis… Anyway, we'll see!

I agree! I think it's gotten me more motivated. Now the ones below Semis have another chance, that is if they were chosen. There's only 24 contestants chosen!

But, if you think about how many people are going to be at nats, maybe about 90-100 because Orlando is so expensive, and you take off 15 because of people who make it to semis, then you're going to have a little more than a third of the contestants that will be picked. And, that's assuming that everyone's is going to audition! So, I think that there's a fairly good chance if you want to do it.

I still don't get the point of it. It seems like another semi final round to me.

Well, it's a TV show, and BB isn't… As for how many are coming to nats, that was just a guess; I remember last year when I looked up my score, there were 104 results (that was for Juniors). Have you reserved a room in the hotel yet? Some families even need more than one room!

Yeah! Then again, it'll take two hours out of Nats, if you end up doing it. :-/ :P

The website is copyright SKF, so I think it's the same people, although maybe some different people are helping out.

True… the Seniors' time slot is from 8 to 1 on Sat morning, so you would probably miss either the Primary or Junior Finals. Too bad that we can't go on Friday where we would only miss semis!

And 8 a.m. will be 5 a.m. in Washington State time, I think, which means that if they picked me I would have to get up at like 3 a.m. or something awful like that.

But it's on Saturday, so you would have a couple days to adjust…

Oh no! :( Well, at least I don't really know anyone that well in those age groups… but if someone from our locals made it, I would want to watch them.

Seven. And I think we have better chances for someone, more than one person, to make it to Semis than we did any other year, though we did have seven one other year.

Hmm. Maybe. I'm not going to make any guesses at all on how far I myself will end up. :P But as for the other six, nobody qualified lower than 60th place, so maybe… Then again, nobody except myself was in the top 30 either. I could probably answer that question better after we get together with some of them later this month.

I would absolutely love to do this, but I just found out that my Finals for Community College are during the Finals of it. :(

Just school finals. It's the last week of class, and I have to hand in a final draft for College Writing, and I'm sure I have a math test that week. :\

I'm 17 and this will be my third year as a Senior, and although I might be able to do Locals next year, I will not be going to Nationals.

Yeah, I agree! The other Seniors live too far away, but both Primaries and the Junior that qualified can hopefully come to our fellowship nights. Our bee is usually about 40 contestants.

How many other Seniors did you have? Ours only had three, and last year there were two!

We had 10 this year, I thought it was the most we'd had but then I looked back and I think we've had as many as 12 or more before.

I would SO love to do this! But doing it would mean my dad would have to take another few days off from work, and he's already taken a lot off this year. And my mom doesn't want to drive all that way on her own in December, coming from ND. So… we might not be able to do it this year, but probably next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D (At least trying out)

I know… but we've been traveling so much already this year - Ohio for a family reunion, Warroad, MN, for Locals, and now FL… plus, Mom will probably be flying again in December and it might conflict with that. :( But Dad and Mom still REALLY want me to try next year! So maybe it'll work then. :)
