What is everyone's Bible Bee game plan?

I plan on reading the chosen book once a day. I want to make a sort of picture passage, using pictures instead of words to memorize the verses –if that makes sense. I am going to do this in the NKJV, the version I use, and if you or your family is interested in using them, give me your email, and I'll send a copy of them (when they're made) to you. It will be a fun and exciting project. I'm also going to take more advantage of the wonderful sets of quizlet (that will be made) to help me remember my facts. It will be a lot of fun, and I'm really excited about it!

I can't wait to hear what you guys have to say!

In reply to your question Rachel, I plan on using PowerPoint and just taking pictures off the clip art there, and using them in place of words. For example, for the word "be" used in a Bible verse, I would put a picture of a bumble-bee, things like that. I hope that makes sense. :) I'm going to try to make the pictures small enough to fit on one or two PowerPoint slides. I have some samples of what I did last year, though they aren't the bestest, if you would like to see them.

To everyone who has done the following things for locals/nationals…
–Memorized the Study book
–Memorize cross references
Etc…
I am wondering - did it help you? Was the written test "easier" because of those things?
Thanks in advance! :)

Definitely! I did both of those things in 2012 locals, and have tried to at least memorize the book in the other years. Memorizing the cross references might not be as helpful with Seniors as with Juniors, because the Junior test has more cross-reference questions, but it still really helped me. Memorizing the book is pretty straightforward - with all the reading and copying of the book I do in the Sword Study, I've pretty much memorized it already.

Memorizing the study book really helped me. I would highly recommend it. As for cross refs, I don't think it is necessary to memorize these, as long as you know the general idea of what they say. I have not memorized them before.

Thanks, Matthew and Allison! :)
Matthew - I know you made it last year - were a lot of the passages for Nationals the cross references for Locals? Just wondering…

Are there going to be Bible Bee live quizzes this year? Those were really fun and helpful last year!

My friend recommended memorizing the cross references. Especially this year, because the other verses are so easy. She said it really helped her in both the local test, and especially Nationals, as she said a lot of the cross references were passages for Nationals.

Yes, you can tag verses…

From the FAQ page…

"How do I tag a verse?
Go to the ‘My Verses’ page and scroll down until you find the verse that you want to tag. Click the verse and you’ll be brought to a page where you can add tags to the verse."

Hope that helps! :) I think there's also a blog post on the subject, if you wanted to look at that…

Hi All! :)
If anyone has made a timeline of dates of John's life, could you please post it? I'm having a hard time finding dates etc.
Thanks!

@Jackson…thank you for posting your timeline. I was wondering if you knew when John was exiled to Patmos. If not that is fine.

@Jakson II, thanks for sharing your timeline!!!

MrsBibleBee, actually those changes only apply to the semi-final and final rounds, unless I am mistaken. Which is a great relief!

Lol, maybe! I'm still not sure I'd recognize you… I saw Matthew several times though, but I didn't see any of the P.'s (I'll have to look harder, they must be there somewhere!:)
