What's wrong with waving your hands?
Margaret Eddy
@biblebee: No.
It looks ridiculous. Furthermore, it feels even more ridiculous than it looks.
biblebee
Ian…it's not as bad as she makes it out to be….
Ian R.2
I figured. :)
Margaret Eddy
You are mistaken; it is much worse than I made it out to be.
biblebee
Here's a picture of it so you can see…

@margaret: Ummmm….sorry to break the news to you but you are the one mistaken :)
Ian R.2
Maybe for you, but I don't think I would mind it, unless they make you hop on one foot while you do it. :P
Margaret Eddy
At least it will be this year, because if they make me do it I will sing "Arky, Arky" to quietly to myself and insert clapping in the required places. It will be much worse.
Margaret Eddy
I wouldn't chance suggesting that to them.
Ian R.2
I'm not going anyway. I saw the picture, and it didn't look that bad.
Margaret Eddy
Ridiculous. That is the word that comes to mind when I look at that picture.
Margaret Eddy
As I told you, it feels even more ridiculous than it looks.
Ian R.2
I think someone is just a little sensitive about this subject. :)
Hiruko Kagetane
Why not, instead, wriggle a toe?
'Cuz they don't want you all taking off your shoes and everyone smelling the collective stink of your feet!
Margaret Eddy
HA! You are not going? Then of course you are not sympathetic!
I just feel like: "We worked so hard to qualify for this?"
Margaret Eddy
The bonus would be that you could wriggle your toe inside of your shoe, so they could not tell if you were doing it or not.
Ian R.2
No seriously! I don't think I would mind one bit!
Hiruko Kagetane
Which is why they'd tell everyone to take off their shoes!
Margaret Eddy
They make us do it for a super long time and keep saying things like: "Higher, higher, faster, faster!" and your poor arms had barely recovered from the written test! Have you ever made it to Nationals?
Margaret Eddy
I know. But it would make it so much easier for the non-compliant people.
Ian R.2
I've never made it to Nationals, and I still don't think I would mind it too much.
Margaret Eddy
Huh. That's what I thought last year before I made it for the first time. "I'd just be so glad I made it, I wouldn't care what they did to me." That's what I thought. But after 3 more months, 1 Timothy, and 600 more verses I did care.
Hiruko Kagetane
Would you like some cheese with your whine?
Margaret Eddy
I love cheese! What kind? I am a little picky.
Ian R.2
rolls eyes I just be glad I made it to Nationals!
Margaret Eddy
That's what they all say.
Andrew
Good name change. Good name choice also.
Margaret Eddy
I thought I deserved it after my amazing wave of poeticness a few hours ago.
Margaret Eddy
You think maybe I should copyright it?
biblebee
Margaret!
Margaret Eddy
Which one was that at?
biblebee
"They make us do it for a super long time and keep saying things like: "Higher, higher, faster, faster!" and your poor arms had barely recovered from the written test! Have you ever made it to Nationals?"
It was to all of it but especially the above one!
Margaret Eddy
Do I make you feel like grinding your teeth and pulling out your hair? Just imagine what my sunday school teachers went through!
Margaret Eddy
Wasn't that what they did?
2 Corinthians 5:17
I've never made it to Nationals, and I still don't think I would mind it too much.
Ditto!
Margaret Eddy
Sure, I paraphrased it a little…
biblebee
You don't make me feel like that….yet….
No..that's not what they did! And maybe if people had done it correctly right away they wouldn't have made us do it so long but some people wouldn't even do it, while others were being to loud!
Margaret Eddy
Some people may not mind looking ridiculous, I did not say that there wouldn't be exceptions.
But the real question is "Why do they make us wave our hands in the air?" I want answers, people, not saying that you wouldn't mind doing it too much!
biblebee
It makes us less stressed, It lets us stretch, It makes us even more excited for the opening ceremony, etc, etc, etc… :)
biblebee
whispers to Rachel Don't worry Rachel…waving your hands isn't as bad as Margaret says. smiles
Margaret Eddy
Some people wanted reasons.
"For we walk by sight not by faith" (only in regards to humans of course).
Margaret Eddy
It did none of these things for me. All it succeeded in doing was making me feel martyr-like.
biblebee
Martyr-like????????????????????? Everybody else was doing it!!!!!!!! And if I remember correctly you told me that you didn't do it….so how could you feel martyr-like if you didn't even do it?????????????
In It Not Of It
hello everybody!
Margaret Eddy
I felt like I was being martyred for everyone in the room. I was mortified for them. Besides being between a rock and a hard place myself, since I would look undignified if I did it, and uncooperative if I didn't.
Margaret Eddy
Do you like waving your hands in the air?
Did you like my extension to the poem?
biblebee
Hey Stefani!
biblebee
MARGARET!!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!
Margaret Eddy
I opted for uncooperative.
Margaret Eddy
I agree. That is what I have been telling you all this time! It was very serious; I was in a predicament.
