Greetings Everybody! I wanted to let you all know that I will be setting up a Memverse Meeting again this year. I'm waiting right now for more details about Nationals though. We will probably have it on Wednesday after the Seniors finish their orals, just like in previous years. As more details come out, I will update this comment with them. If people like, we can also have a photo 'contest' thingie like we did last year...

Last year there was a Quizlet meeting, but nothing has been planned for this year. Maybe someone will organize something. You can ask Katherine F. about it because I think she planned the meeting last year :)

Just an update, I'm still waiting for more details about Nationals before I set anything more up.

Also, Dutch Blitz seems to be a game lots of people enjoy. I will be bringing Dutch Blitz cards, but I don't have enough. So, if others would like to bring some as well that would be great.

Here are the rules for the MV Photo Contest though. :)

Eligible Contestants:
Anyone who is on Memverse that will be at the National Bible Bee!

What to do:
Take a picture of yourself with another Memverse user.

Rules:

1. You can't take the picture at the Memverse meeting!
2. The picture can't be an official BB picture with you and someone else in it! It must be taken by a Memverse user or their family member. (You can send your picture to the other person and it counts as one point for both of you, in case one of you didn't have a camera at the time)
3. Come back on here and post how many pictures you got, and who you got them with. Don't post the actual photo here!
4. Pictures from the Quizlet meeting are NOT excluded.
5. The more Memverse users in the picture, the more points. Only stipulation – they must be looking at the camera and know what's going on! If you get a picture of you up on stage with all the other Memversers at the Opening Ceremony, it doesn't count! xD
6. You do not get to count the same person twice.

The Winner:
Whoever gets the most pictures!

Nats schedule is up!! Seniors' Oral round is from 12:45-3:00 on Wednesday. Opening Ceremony starts at 6:00

On your family dashboard, click on register for Nationals. This takes you to the registration page. Click on already registered and then agenda at the top of the screen. Carissa- Here are the instructions I wrote up on how to change/add your photo for the BB-
Go to your BB family dashboard
Click “Click here for family registration to the National Bible Bee”
Click “already registered”
Sign in with email and confirmation number
Click ‘my group at the top of the screen’
Next to your name there will be a rectangle with a circle and an arrow. Click on this and select modify registration.
Click ‘Next’
Click ‘upload file’ (just under select tee shirt size) (it will say 'change' if you already uploaded a picture)
Click browse on the screen that comes up and add your photo. Then click upload.(if the picture is too big, you will click the upload button and nothing will happen. To remedy this, you can either compress it (if you know how) or email it to the BB with your contestant ID and name.)
Continue to click next until you get to the page that says submit payment (if you’ve already paid for nationals, this is nothing). Click finish and you are good to go.

^A game.^ ;D It's a card game that many, many of the BBers know how to play. There are usually multiple tournaments that go on during Nats. You can learn when you come! It's a lot of fun. :) We're hoping to teach some first-time Nationalists from our Bee it before they come. :)

THE MV MEETING! Time 3:30pm, Wednesday, November 18,2015. End time is whenever we're all tired of each other. :P Location For now we'll say the hotel lobby, but as I get more info I may change that. Other Info I don't have a great camera, but I can bring a phone and we'll get group pictures. If anyone has a good actual camera, feel free to bring it if you want. Also any individual pics taken with MVers while at the meet-up don't count in the photo 'contest'. ;) There may be some games played. Also, there may or may not be a poster that will be going around for all contestants to sign, as a way of saying thank you to Mr. Upton and the BB Staff. I look forward to seeing y'all there! =)

Because photos were not getting around very well last year from both the Quizlet and Memverse meetings, for the Quizlet meeting we are having a private site where we can upload, share, and comment on photos from the meetings. At the Quizlet meeting there will be a paper people can sign so I can send them the link and the password. Should I bring the paper so we can include the Memverse meeting in this also?

We are hoping to be there! We will definitely bring our good camera. :) Can't wait to see everyone!

Question for those involved in the meet-up: Would we prefer to meet before prelims on Tuesday night, or on Thursday during Semi-Finals? (I'm trying to coordinate getting something together with Daniel Street… They're trying to get us a separate room to meet in, since so many people show up. I'm guessing Wednesday may not be an option if we want a room, and I'm not surprised either, they're going to be extremely busy that day.)

Matthew, email me if you would like me to send out a update with changes to the Memverse News Letter group. I want to make sure everyone gets the information right.

Guys, there's a couple good reasons why we should probably have a small separate room (and thus why Wednesday probably won't work): 1) if we want to keep the poster secret from Mr. U and most of the staff, it would be much harder to do that out in the open. 2) I have no idea how the hotel/convention center layout is, but last year, when we met just in the hallway, we ended up spreading out and almost blocking off the entire traffic flow. Not entirely, but pretty close. I feel like it would be more considerate to do it in a less-used spot this year.

You raise some valid points. But I still vote for it not to be on Tuesday, please. Here's another idea- after the Opening Ceremony.
