If it was during the processional, then I was EXTREMELY busy at that point and time.

Sorry I didn't make you do it. This year was very stressful for me and I didn't get a lot of socializing time. :)

This was my first year as a lead of something and I wasn't doing it very well. A lot of things contributed to it…one of which was probably just lack of sleep - 24 1/2 hours between Tuesday and Sunday. =) But, it is all good now…

What did you lead? I'm sure you did fine, but I know how you feel about the not enough sleep thing. I didn't sleep from 12:00-3:30 the night before prelims, which probably didn't help my score much. Besides that, I was on Washington time, so I felt like I had gotten up at 4:00 in the morning instead of 7:00. By the oral round I just wanted to go to bed, put the covers over my head, and sleep for about a week. So, yes, even though I wasn't in charge of anything, I know what you mean.

…when you don't judge people who use King James, because you know they can't be too rigidly KJV Only, since they are at the Bible Bee with all the other translations, after all. =p

However, there was one guy who sat next to me during the processional whom I was pretty sure was KJV Only. He was debating with the Martin girls about infant baptism (they were in favor, he was against), and he referenced Acts 8:37, intentionally to point out that it wasn't in their BIble because it was "removed." =p

You know what they say…If the King James was good enough for the Apostle Paul, its good enough for me. ;)

But anyway, what was his point with that? As an NKJV individual, I also have that verse in my translation (and it is in all the others). What did he say was removed?

10 Essentials Regarding the Testing at Nationals

1) This test is on Nahum. This is the part where you expect me to say something profound. I’m not going to disappoint. Make sure that in all of your busy, crazy studying you have not neglected to study the right book. Nahum is not Amos or Micah or Habakkuk or Isaiah…. well it might be Isaiah….
2) Nahum is in the Bible. Nahum is not a book in your Bible Atlas. Yeah, that atlas filled with maps and lots of pictures of fat pharaohs wearing funny hats and strange metal cups on their soul patches. Stay focused, my friends.
3) Nahum is a minor prophet. For those of you who play music, you realize that this means he generally brings bad news.
4) Nahum is about Nineveh. This is important, so don’t forget it!
5) Nineveh is bad. God is good. Atheists and Assyrians get this mixed up.
6) Cyxrarxes the Mede is a person. Cyaxares is not the Latin name of some exotic rock hyrax of moderate dimensions.
7) “Oral Round” refers to a timed recitation of verses which earns points contestants. “Oral round” does not refer to the shape of your mouth when you realized that you would be reciting on stage into a microphone before an audience.
8) Strangely enough, the written test involves no writing. I’ve been involved in the National Bible Bee since 2009, but I still haven’t figured out why.
9) Being OCD about filling in the bubbles on the scan sheet helps the bubbles look nicer. It doesn’t help your score. Or your confidence.
10) Roy Patterson is coming back this year. Darth Vader was too embarrassed to be in the same room with Mr. Patterson, so he went back to Disney.
