Sewing, Knitting, Crocheting...

Okay, I couldn't resist. Mommy's Helper's story (-ies) is (are) made up!
@SavedByGrace: Don't call your sister crazy! She may be nuts with needles, but she's obviously not crazy. (It would be wrong of me to call her crazy too.)

PLAGIARISM ALERT! PLAGIARISM ALERT!
Hey, you got that joke from me, Mommy's Helper! And you told it wrong! :P Here is how it goes…
The strongest man in the world, the smartest man in the world, the oldest man in the world, and a Boy Scout were all on an airplane. Suddenly, the plane's engines went out and it started going down. The cowardly pilot took one of the four parachutes and dove out of the plane. The strongest man in the world said, "I'm the strongest man in the world! I deserve a parachute!" Then he took one of them and jumped out of the plane. The smartest man in the world said, "I'm the smartest man in the world! I deserve a parachute!" So he took one and jumped out of the plane. The oldest man in the world and the Boy Scout were stuck in the plane alone. The oldest man in the world, thinking that there was only one parachute left, offered it to the Boy Scout. The Boy Scout said, "No, we can both have parachutes. See? There are two left." The oldest man in the world, puzzled, said, "How can that be? I'm sure that we had only four when we came onto the plane." "We did," answered the Boy Scout. "The smartest man in the world took my backpack."
Boy, that man was smart, huh? :P
P.S. You AREN'T a toddler? Oops, my mistake. ;D
God's Maiden of Virtue
Mommy's Helper- I don't think that girls are smarter than boys. I think that some girls are smarter than some boys, and some boys are smarter than some girls (for example, I obviously am smarter than Peter, but I am not smarter than Nicolas).
Mommy's Helper, InSoloChristo and Nicolas- I think we should get back on topic (Sewing, Knitting, Crocheting…). We can continue this discussion on HRBC Assemble.
Li'l Boy Orange
Claro, voy a volver sobre el tema! Me gusta coser, tejer crochet, y todo eso! Me lo haría hablar durante horas y horas acerca lo si yo tuviera el tiempo!
Es broma, es broma…
God's Maiden of Virtue
No comprendo.
SavedByGrace
Don't you mean, "No entendo"? It's a better way of saying "I don't understand. :)
God's Maiden of Virtue
Sí, eso es lo que quise decir. No sé cómo deletrear las palabras en español, y en este momento, no estoy tan interesado.
Now can we please get back on topic?
Mommy's Helper- I'll be bringing the pillow I made for you on Sunday.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Fabric flowers are fun to make, but a take a bit of time :) How do you make yours? Do you make petals, or the circular ones? BTW, Happy Birthday :)
God's Maiden of Virtue
I've never tried making fabric flowers before, but it sounds like a lot of fun! I do make crocheted flowers quite a bit though. I have usually made them into flower headbands. One of the flowers I crocheted I sewed onto a small pocket I had made.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Do you want a link on how to make them? I think I can find it on a friend's blog….
EDIT: I went to my friend's blog and she had another link to the flower tutorial. This is where I learned to make them. Enjoy :)

I am not a girl but I do enjoy crocheting. I learned it when my Dad wanted me and my older brother to make a creation with the Lego Mindstorm Robot that would crochet. So I learned how to crochet and my brother was going to design the machine but we never finished the robot. After that I kept crocheting for a few months but then my yarn got tangled and I forgot about it.
God's Maiden of Virtue
Wow! I didn't think there would be any boy on Memverse who enjoys crocheting. I guess I was wrong!
That would have been a really cool robot!
Isaac
Yes, actually I probably wouldn't have gotten into it if we hadn't been supposed to work on that project. I liked to crochet when we were watching movies or doing our bible study time. You are right, that would have been a pretty cool robot.
Emma
@ Nicolas: I did not get it from you! I got it from OCTSRIS, and I changed it a little. OK?
@ Isaac Hanna: Cool! I love to crochet. My little brother (Papa's helper) loves to crochet too! I taught him how to do the chain, which is all I know how to do. Then my mom taught him how to double crochet, so now he knows more than me, and I taught him!
@ Rosie: Okay. I can't wait to see the pillow!
SavedByGrace
Ah, I see. But OCTSRIS got it from me. :)
God's Maiden of Virtue
I can't wait to see what it looks like after I make it! LOL
Mommy's Helper
I can't wait to see what it looks like after you make it! LOL
~Nicolas~ Oh.
Emma
I can't wait to see what it looks like after you make it! LOL
~Nicolas~ Oh. Let's get back to the subject; sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Do you enjoy sewing, knitting, or crocheting? Hehe
In reply to Mommy's Helper
SavedByGrace
Uhh… no. Not at all. You go ahead and have fun with it–it's just not for me.
P.S. Why did you put "In reply to Mommy's Helper" at the end of your comment, when it says "In reply to God's Maiden of Virtue" automatically after that? If you wanted to reply to yourself, you could have just pushed "Reply" under one of your other comments. :)
Emma
I didn't think you liked it!
Oh, I did that just for fun. I knew someone would ask.
In reply to Me
Isaac
I just got back into crocheting this afternoon. I found some string and a partly done washcloth type thing this morning and used that.
Emma
How old are you? My brother, Papa's helper, LOVES crocheting. He is two years (well, actually 11/2) younger than me. I taught him how.
Isaac
I am 11.
His Servant
@God's Maiden of Virtue - Thank you SO much for the little thing that you made me! That was so sweet and thoughtful of you - and I enjoyed reading your note that you had inside! Your sewing is very good, by the way. Keep up the good work!
God's Maiden of Virtue
Oh, your welcome! I had a lot of fun making it; I still can't believe that my brothers actually got to have dinner with your family! I really enjoy making things for people- even if I don't get to see them myself! LOL
Thank you! Have you done any sewing lately?
2 Corinthians 5:17
Did they visit you?
His Servant
@God's Maiden of Virtue - Yes, I thought it was pretty neat that some of your family could visit us, when my dad told me on the phone :) Hopefully, though, you'll get to come to our house someday as well! I made a 4-cornered apron the other week. Have you ever heard of any apron like that? They are really simple and lots of fun to make!
@Rachel - Yes! Mr. Alexander, Christian and Nicolas came to our house yesterday :) :)
God's Maiden of Virtue
I think I may have heard of that kind of apron.
biblebee
@Rosie: Thank you for the little pillow you made for me. I SOOOO like it (Bethany can testify to that…). I was really excited that your dad and brothers got to come over. It was a lot of fun. I really hope I can see you sometime soon (like at nationals :D).
biblebee
I really like making fabric flowers (They my newst favorite things to sew :D). I got a book called: Fun to Wear: Fabric Flowers. I got it from our library. It shows you lots of different fabric flowers you can make.
God's Maiden of Virtue
You're welcome; I'm glad you like it.
I just got yours and Bethany's letters to me. I really enjoyed reading them! And to answer your question, 1 Chronicles 16:8-12 was actually my favorite passage as well! I liked Psalm 9:1-4 a lot too though.
Bethany- Hopefully you'll find a letter in your mailbox soon….
Bethany Frisk (RD)

Emma
I'm embroidering two roses on a pillowcase for the fair!
God's Maiden of Virtue
Hannah- That sounds like fun!
Everyone- Does anyone know how to quilt? I just started making a quilt at a friend's house yesterday, and started wondering if anyone on Memverse knew how.
Emily H
I wish I did!
Emma
Rosie: I guess it's kinda fun, but if you've ever embroidered a pillowcase, you know how hard it is to try to get the thread through only one layer of fabric instead of two.
God's Maiden of Virtue (Bible Bee)
How is it harder to get thread through one layer of fabric then two? I'd think it would be the other way around….
I just memorized my 10th verse (this is my BB account)!!
Emma
I know, I know. But it's hard when the two layers are together.
Congratulations!
Emily H
I know, I know. But it's hard when the two layer are together.
I know! You keep catching the second layer and then have to take it all out again. :(
God's Maiden of Virtue
I agree! :(
GlorifyGod<3
I love to sew things!
God's Maiden of Virtue
Do you have anything that you like to sew very often?
Emma
</blockqoute>I know! You keep catching the second layer and then have to take it all out again. :( </blockquote>
I won first prize for my embroidery in the fair! (Of course, there wasn't any competition because no one else entered in my age group.) I wasn't even done with the first rose on the pillow case the day we had to give the stuff to the fair! But I finally got it finished. I felt so good! Have you ever felt that way when you've finished something that was very hard and took a long time to do?
Emily H
That's great you won first!!! (even if you were the only one competing :)
Yep! It's so exciting to finish something you've been working on for a long time! I usually sit and stare at it for a long time. :P
Emma
Thank you! In the entire fair, (from what I saw), there were only two embroidered things. Not two embroidered pillowcases, two embroidered things. Only TWO! The other one was in a different age group.
laughter I usually do too. laughter When I finished it, there were only three people in the house to show it to, so I showed it to them, then sat back and stared at it for a while. laughter
Courtney M.
I have done a lot of quilting in our ladies group quilt ministry. They are really fun! :-)
