Welcome to Memverse!

Yo. Wassup? (Well, the ceiling of course. And gas prices.)
My name is gasp Anthony. I'm 15 and come from a family of 10.
Memverse has been a huge help to get me to continue to memorize scripture daily. I used to, for a while, memorize scripture on a daily basis, but of late I hadn't been consistent. Thankfully, a friend introduced me to memverse, and now I'm back on track!
Anywho, I just wanted to point out that I'm from Northfield. (Don't tell me you don't know what we're famous for.) xD
~Antonius (<– is how I like to sign my emails/online posts. Some ppl at my church get it confused with Antonia. TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Whereas the former is Latin, second declension nominative singular, therefore making it masculine, the latter is of the first declension (in general, a group of feminine nouns) So try not to get them confused. xD)

Hey Peter, just a curious question: is Katrina's (a member of your church) last name Baergen? I was just wondering, because I am making a list of National Qualifiers from Memverse, and she is a Junior National Qualifier - from Michigan, too.
@Anthony: Nice to hear a bit about you Anthony. Have you ever competed in the National Bible Bee?
Hiruko Kagetane
Can we just call you Tony? Like Tony Stark?
Clara H
Hey Antonius!! This is Clara from your TPS Latin 1 class last year. Small world ;) My name is much superior, because I don't have to change anything to make it fit into Latin (and I doubt anyone would call me Clarus) :)

Hey! Wretched Man is back on Memverse again! We've missed you! (only half joking) :D
SavedByGrace
Well, he's TECHNICALLY back on Memverse, but he really only went over one verse of his 1400 or so that are stacked up, so he's not back for long. :P
Robert Moore
Hi! I stumbled across Memverse about a month ago while mentoring a college student who was wanting to memorize more Scripture (he is on here now too). I am a chemistry professor with a PhD in biochemistry and am currently working on a Master's of Christian Ministry. I am currently the university student minister at my church and had the same position and was the worship leader at a church in Alabama before moving to Texas. I have a wife and two young kids. A group of us meet every Friday night for 6 hours to study the gospels (we have other Bible studies where we go outside the gospel), and most of us are now on Memverse.
This site (along with getting a new smartphone that is keeping me on a good Bible-in-a-year reading pace) has been a huge spiritual blessing to me. My Bible reading and memorization had slumped ever since I lost my pocket Gideon Bible, and I knew how badly it needed invigoration. God provided both tools at the perfect time. I may not be a big participator on the forums, but I am excited to be a part of this community - particularly with the love and grace that I see being exhibited towards one another.

Welcome to Memverse, Dr. Moore! We just approved your post – sorry for the delay.
That sounds like a pretty intense workload! Hope all goes well with getting your degree, and hopefully Memverse will continue to be helpful with Scripture memorization. I agree that the community on here is a big encouragement.

Hello, everyone! I am Sheila. :) I just wanted to say I have enjoyed reading everyone's introductions. I formally introduced myself today on Jill Thomas's "Hi Everyone" post, although I have been on MemVerse since March 17 (2012). Glad to meet you all–now to work on remembering everybody… ;)
Brittany Proffitt
Hello! My name is Brittany Proffitt and I live in Wilminton, Ohio which is about 80 miles south of Columbus, Ohio. I am getting ready to graduate High School in May and am REALLY excited about it. :) I have an Identical twin named Bridget (I call her Bridgey). I have been playing the violin for the past 13-14 years of my life and hope to start teaching violin lessons soon. I am fairly new to Memverse. I was in the Bible Bee the first year and was too busy in the following summers to do it. :( I have had the privilege of meeting Mr. Walker a couple years ago.
Oh! I am also a CollegePlus student! If any of you CP students are on this forum, let me know!
Blessings to you all,
Brittany

Welcome to Memverse, Brittany! Great to have you on here…we always enjoy getting new people on the Memverse! :) I hope that this will really help you to memorize LOTS of verses, like it has me! Memverse has been such a huge blessing!
That's exciting that you're graduating in May! I will be probably be graduating May 2014. Even though it's a while off, I'm still excited about it as well!
Anyways, if you have any questions, we're all here to help :)

Bethany you just gave away your last name with :P
His Servant
Well, I guess I gave away my last name's first letter :) Good catch - I didn't notice that!
Though, I'm not to concerned about people knowing the first letter…it's the rest of my last name that I'd prefer not to post everywhere :D
Brittany Proffitt
Haha! No worries, :P

Hello Brittany! Congrats on graduating so soon :D

Thanks! I'm looking forward to it. :)

Hello, everyone posting to this forum up till now (and to those who will post to this forum in the future.) Several years ago there was a little study group called F.A.S.T. where we set out to memorize scripture. That program only lasted for, I think, three months. As time went by I stopped learning new verses and then stopped refreshing those I'd learned previously. So what a blessing it was to find this web site and this community! Just like other aspects of our Christian walk, it's best as part of a community of other believers.
I don't know the reference, nor do I know the exact text, but God said that one person sows, another waters, etc. How amazing it is that, after looking for so long, I found some trace of the person who sowed the seed in my heart. Joyce Kelley was the first Spirit-filled Christian I ever met, back when I hated Christianity and Christians. She didn't preach, but she was a living sermon. It took years after she'd moved on for Jesus to bring the seed she'd planted to germination, and by then I'd lost track of her. The group she started is part of this community! How cool is that?! From the bottom of my heart, I thank God for you, Joyce. And if you're ever on here (sez you're inactive,) did Bob ever figure out which direction a camel's head is supposed to go in? :-)
My prayer is that we all encourage each other, inspire each other to keep moving upward, and keep having fun with this!

Wow. I'm truly amazed. I hope I'm a living sermon to someone, and not preaching at people.
