Hopefully… we do have some unexpected things going on and I've only been able to review what I already know this week. :(

To continue the conversation, who are everyone's favorite groups/artists? I like Tenth Avenue North, but I've listened to some TobyMac, and I think it's growing on me!

I know both of us liked TobyMac a while ago, but recently ol' Toby's been getting a little too un-Christian in his lyrics, so he's starting to do pretty much the opposite of grow on us. :P (Well, at least on me. :P) I like his older songs, though. As for Christian's favorite artists, you'd have to ask him. I think his answer will be pretty similar to the one I gave. :)

Whew, my favorite Group 1 Crew song, I'm not gonna lie, is 'Night of my Life'. :) lol I also like 'the difference' and 'goin down' they r all on their new album fearless, which, by the way, is awesome! Lol :) u can tell I'm an avid Group 1 Crew fan. Lol :) here is the rest of my list.

Well he is a Christian but some of his songs r :P gushy weird, I think u get my point. But I do like some of his songs like like Dental Care is just a goofy song about the Dentist. Lol :)

I thought so. You don't like any contemporary though? Do you like Selah? They do hymns, and some original songs. I think if you like hymns, you'll like Selah!

Never heard of it. I don't really listen to anything contemporary. I like the Getty's music (i.e. THE WORDS ONLY), because I don't like the way they sing it, at all!

Nah, Selah usually isn't like Casting Crowns. But why don't you like Casting Crowns? Which of their songs have you heard?

I have no idea which one I listened to, but when I did I knew instantly I didn't like it :)

Do you remember any of the words? I might know the song. But I haven't found any of their songs with bad lyrics, or a bad tune( even though I'm not totally sure what 'bad tune' means).

The way people sing. The music style. What else is their to explain? I just don't like it. I have something for y'all to read about music, but I need to find the document first.

I understand that. I just wanted to make sure you weren't saying that their music (well, lyrics) were bad. I didn't find anything in their lyrics that was bad. But I understand your position, there is some music I just don't like either.

I don't remember the lyrics at all, so I can't say. There are songs that I like the lyrics to, but do not appreciate the music style, so I still won't listen to them. To bad people ruin the lyrics with bad singing/style!

I wouldn't go so far as to say they ruined the lyrics. I thougt it was great song! But if you don't like it, that's your opinion. Their music is just not your cup of Starbucks Frappuccino! Yeah, some people say "cup of tea", I say "Cup of Frappccino"! Or "Cup of Frap"!

How "bad" (talking in sense of my terms) will you let the music style go till you won't listen to it anymore, even it has good lyrics?

I personally didn't think their style was bad. I mean, if they had so much reverb and instrumental that the lyrics were no longer the focus, and the style seemed to try to get you in a "mood", that does NOT give glory to God, then I would not listen to it. Tenth Avenue North hasn't done that with any of their songs.

For me, the lyrics were not the focus, the music, etc was. When I listen to that kind of music, I'm very distracted with the music that it's hard to pay attention to the words. When I listen to hymns that are sung with piano/violin/guitar/whatever I don't have that problem.

I thought the lyrics were the focus when I listened to it. And I did enjoy the lyrics, they made me wonder "Am I making anyone ask God to forgive me?". I also like the music, but that was more secondary for me. Now, that doesn't mean that I don't have a preference when it comes to music, but I did believe that the lyrics were good. If you can't concentrate on the lyrics, that's you.
