That sounds fun :) Well, the History at least :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
Yes, I'd prefer the history :D
God's Maiden of Virtue
Yeah, I would prefer History over Math, because History is my favorite subject right now, and Math is my least favorite (not because it's hard, it just isn't as interesting as the rest of my subjects). :)
Dani(elle)
Yes it's a giant chocolate egg!!!!! :P :)
ZachB
You sound like Marija Westfall! She loves history but hates math! I hate math too…………..if it is algebra. Geometry and before is ok…..
God's Maiden of Virtue
Marija Westfall? Should I know who that is?
I didn't say I hate math, I just don't like it as much as my other subjects. :P I actually think I will like algebra…..geometry is what I'm not looking forward to- particularly the proofs :) What grade are you in?
admin
Who said I like math????? jK
It not that bad, but like I always say, I'd rather play the piano!
I think I'm going to take the math clep after I finish the course I'm in now… But I want to wait till after the 2013 BB. It's my last year for that, so I'm thinking to really power it!

@Danielle – I'm doing Teaching Textbooks :) And, day 2 is going well (I started on Monday)….I only have a few more lessons to do before I finish today's :D I got slowed down because of my orthodontist appointment this morning.
@Hannah – Correct :)
@Jordan – Well, I have a lot left :) I have to do 9 lessons a day, to complete it by Saturday.
Thanks for asking me how it's going, Danielle – I appreciate it!!
Dani(elle)
Hey no probelem! :) I miss teaching textbooks. :)
Ruth Smith
Great plan Jordan!!! Enjoy your last year of Bible Bee the fullest. I would give anything to compete just one more time!!!
2 Corinthians 5:17
9 LESSONS A DAY?! How long does that take you?! :O
Dani(elle)
It's teaching textbooks so it's not quite as hard as it sounds but I bet it still takes her a couple hours. :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
I do Saxon DIVE and sometimes it takes me a couple hours just to do ONE lesson!
His Servant
@Rachel – It takes me around 7 to 8 hours to do 9 lessons :D
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
Ooh, Teaching Textbooks are awesome! (They're best when you're in highschool, though.) I love their story problems. "Mrs. Gargantua bought 8 water hoses to make a necklace…"
2 Corinthians 5:17
Wow! So are putting all your other subject aside just to focus on math for a while? You are being very diligent! :)
His Servant
Well, almost :) I'm trying to finish a lot of my history this week as well….so, I'm just working on those two subjects. Talking about math, I'd better get busy, I have a LOT left to today – bye, y'all! :D
2 Corinthians 5:17
Are you hoping to graduate this year?
His Servant
Nope. I'm going to graduate spring of 2014.
Madi
I'm graduating this year!! :D
2 Corinthians 5:17
Bethany- oh okay….
Madi- congrats! :D You do the BB right?
Ruth Smith
Are you going to do college?
Dani(elle)
Do u go to collage Elanee???
Ruth Smith
No, I kind of want to, but I don't have the money, and I don't know what degree to get or how it would benefit me in the future! I'm studying for some Clep tests though!
Dani(elle)
:) yeah I know from having 2 older brothers that the collage loans r astronomical!!! Sometimes I wonder if the debt is worth it as a girl if ur going to get married when u graduate and probably be a stay at home mom.
Ruth Smith
I know! I've come to the conclusion that college is really not for me! I'm hoping to get some extra knowledge and background in different topics that would be useful for business and marriage. I'm actually going to be studying Midwifery soon:)
Dani(elle)
Uh. I would never be able to do that. Lol :) I would faint. :) my dad works in the medical field and he almost went down when my oldest brother was born. :)
admin
wow Bethany! I'm cheering you on!!!!
His Servant
Thanks, Eden :) Very encouraging! It's about 10 PM over here, and I still have lots left to do tonight (I'm taking a break for a couple minutes to eat my favorite snack….pasta salad!)….and, I have things to do for my parents a lot of tomorrow, so I don't know if I'll actually finish it, but I REALLY want too. Though, I know this is quite insignificant compared to all the other prayer requests right now, you could pray that I'd be super diligent tomorrow. After this book is done, I don't think I'll be able to cram another Geometry problem into my mind! :D
Emily H
Prayed! :)
admin
Praying for you! You are doing great! Don't loose heart! You can do it!
admin
Keep on going!!! You're almost there!
And you know, after you're done, you probably won't have to do another geo problem… I mean, I did that book back when I was 15 and didn't really use any of the concepts (except for logic) until I started Calculus and Trig…
But of course, if you can, avoid trig at ALL costs! J/K (it's just really confusing when you have six different trig ratios and have to sort them all out and remember which one is which!)
Ruth Smith
I'm so glad you understand math so well:) I'm sure it will be useful for your whole life!!!!!
His Servant
Thanks Emily, Eden and Jordan! Y'all are so encouraging! :) I still have a lot left, but so far it looks like I'll probably be done with it today (I hope everything goes as planned!!).
Did y'all ever learn about "sohcahtoa" in your Geometry books? Mine didn't tell me anything about it, but my mom explained it to me, and it's SOOOO useful :D Probably one of my favorite things to use in Geometry….
I'll keep you updated on how it goes….One thing, about why I'm really excited about finishing – I get to read the 7 books that I told myself I couldn't read till my Geometry was finished :P
Dani(elle)
That gr8! Keep up the good work!!!! :)
His Servant
Thanks, Danielle – I really appreciate it :) You guys are awesome at encouragement :D :D
His Servant
Okay, so I'm seriously almost finished with Geometry…. I'm so excited :D :D :D Anyways, after this, I'm taking a break from all writing with a pencil, for a while. I've worked on math so much this week, that my arm is super sore, and my elbow hurts when I bend it. :)
Thanks for the encouragement, everyone!
Emily H
Yay!!! How many more lessons do you have left?
I'm so happy for you!! =D (besides that your arm hurts…:)
SavedByGrace
That's great, Bethany! :D And hey, if you don't mind… could you explain "sohcahtoa" to me? You said it was really useful, and I could use something really useful for working through Geometry right now… :P
Dani(elle)
Lol I hope ur arm feels better!!! It's all gonna be worth it when ur done! :)
Matthew Minica
It's a mnemonic. Sine = Opposite over Hypotenuse, Cosine = Adjacent over Hypotenuse, Tangent = Opposite over Adjacent. It's the only way I can remember the three principal triangle ratios. Now if only I could remember the other three…
admin
Ammm Bethany, I have NO idea what s(whatever the word was)! Can you enlighten us???
admin
Okay… that makes sense…. I can never remember any of the trig ratios! And then all the identities!
His Servant
Matthew, Matthew, Matthew!!! I can't believe you gave my little secret away….I was so looking forward to telling him! Oh, well… y'all gotta know that in our family, when someone learns something neat, we so enjoy telling others….
Anyways, did that make sense, Nicolas, what Matthew said? It's my favorite thing to use in Geometry!
His Servant
YES! Geometry is finished!!! :) I'm super excited and am glad it's all over. :D :D :D
Hiruko Kagetane
I use "Oliver Held A Ham Over Arthur", for Sine, Cosine, and Tangent.
His Servant
How does that work? :)
Hiruko Kagetane
Oliver=Opposite Held=Hypotenuse. Sine=O/H
A=Adjacent Ham=Hypotenuse Cosine=A/H
Over= Opposite Arthur=Adjacent Tangent=O/A
His Servant
I guess the saying comes true – "To each his own"….I'm glad that works for you, but I think mine is less confusing :)
Hiruko Kagetane
Not confusing to me. My whole Algebra 2 class( including my teacher) uses it.
