I've never memorized the cross references before, but knowing them well and memorizing 2 timothy really helped last year. :)

I finished all of my verses yesterday but they are by no means perfect. After that I am going to work on memorizing the CR.

I just memorized Jeremiah 9:23-24, so now I have 9 verses memorized.

Wow - great job, Carissa! :) I have 21 out of 24 passages memorized; I believe I know them all pretty well, but I still of course, need plenty of review. :)

All: What is everyones' favorite song on the Musical Scriptures CD? My favorite is definitely Track 22! :)

I have 8 passages memorized. :) does anyone have a special way that help u memorize longer passages like the one in Acts that's like 5 or 6 verses?

Wow, You guys are going really fast. :) I'm not going quite as fast, I'm working on Week 5 right now. Hopefully I will be done as well before too long.

Danielle, usually when I have a long passage like that to memorize, I break it up and memorize one verse at a time, then try to say them all together. Also, I've found it extremely helpful to get a sticky note and write the first letter of each word in the verse on it (so Gen 1:1 would be "I t b G c t h a t e…") then find someone to listen to me while I try to say the verse while looking at my sticky note. I was really surprised by how much it helped me. :)

Congratulations! Actually I counted and it's more like a little over half…I just mainly have the longer ones to do now… :) I get all the short ones over with first. :) Music always helps me memorize SOOOOO much faster!

I love 22 as well! :) I also like 9… And some other ones I'm not sure of the numbers :)

Wow! You guys are moving fast! I only have six of the passages memorized.

I don't think it really matters how fast you get through all your cards initially, as long as you learn them all well by locals. Which it sounds like you are well on your way towards doing. :D Some people memorize better if they take time to really soak in each passage before moving on to the next, while others choose to "speed-memorize" all their passages, then go back over them constantly to make sure they get into long-term memory. :)

I don't really know what I'm complaining about though, Bible Bee has barely started!! :P

@Danielle, Your welcome! I hope that helps you. I always struggle with memorizing the longer passages too… Especially if they don't really have a theme to them, like the verses could go in any order, because then I get it soooo mixed up. A lot of times, if I can just remember what the next part is about I get all the words right :P

That's not fun… I have some Science and History to finish up before this year is over and I'm going to have to do some this summer. My mom broke the news to me a few days ago and I am NOT doing school this month. Maybe next month. But it's summer! :) My sister was frustrated because she couldn't memorize her verses so fast and she is acting like it is next week that Locals is! i think the motivation is memverse - last year I wasn't as motivated but reading everyone's comments has really motivated

Which cross references do u generally memorize and where do u find them? :)

@Danielle - they are in the Sword Study. In week 3 they start doing Greek words and they have cross-references that have that certain word in them.

I memorize the ones that they give us in the book

I just memorized Job 15:14-16.

I "finished" my verses the monday 2 days after the Saturday we found out what they were because we hadn't gotten our box yet and had nothing else to do!

Not really. I was just so impatient for the boxes to come I had to work off all my nervous energy in memorizing. Besides, there was only about 35 verses I hadn't memorized already. So that's only 11-12 verses a day, and believe me, they were not very solid. :)
