Hey Dani! How was your testing?

We won't know how Sam did until Wednesday. He said he did all right in the oral round, but I think he said he didn't finish the test before time was up. I'm not sure though. He wasn't one of the five that made it to the Final Challenge Round, but with the talent that was displayed at our local bee, that doesn't have to mean anything. ;)

Do you think you are going to make it to nationals?

If I can say this without sounding arrogant or prideful…yes, most definitely. ;)

That's good. I didn't finish my test either. : / I'm a slow test taker. I though it was very confusing also. How did you and Rosie and Nicolas do???
@Rachel- it went ok orals were good but as I said I didn't finish the written test as I said. :)

So, what about the test made it seem easy to you, Carissa?

I just seemed to know a lot of the answers…so that made it easy :)

@ Danielle: I posted above a general synopsis of how we did, but basically, Nicolas and I received 2nd and 1st place in our local bee, respectively. Both of us did well in the oral round, but found the test to be very challenging.

Rosie will probably want to tell you how she did herself. ;)

Well… so did I, but there were several challenging questions that required a lot of thought. And I didn't have extra time to dedicate careful thought, so I was frustrated. But I think I ended up giving a lot of good answers, even to the ones that I found more difficult. ;)

That's awesome! Congrats! Tell Nicolas I say congrats when he wakes up. :P :) lol

This. Yes. This was my downfall. I was hoping for chapter and verse questions, but instead it was like, "What does 1 John 3 say about this?" or even "What does 1 John say about this?" I was like, come on! I guess it does really even out the playing field though. Only the best of the best studiers were going to do very well on this test.

I did bring a watch this year and it really helped! I haven't ever before though :)

Yes, and a few times it even just said "what does the Bible say about this?"

@ Bethany: Well, I think there were more than one question about cross-references. They were just referenced in less-than-obvious ways. But yeah, there weren't really any questions that said, "Which is the best cross-reference for this passage in 1 John?"
