I have not seen Iron Man 3… I dont know if I would be allowed. (because of the immorality that comes with Iron Man movies)
I am not allowed to see most movies with any sort witchcraft…but I am allowed to see movies with violence (sometimes even with a R rating) as long as the violence is for a good cause, not horror or promoting evil.

just a few, (nine i think) like the Patriot, Braveheart, Act of Valor, action/war movies (some of the movies i did not list because of they had bad language, i cannot recommend them)

There is no 'witchcraft' there r wizards who are basically angels sent by the valar (the arkangels) to be on middle-earth for an appointed time to help the men, hobbits, elves etc. Sauron has power but it's pretty much the same as Thanos' gauntlet and all the villains in marvel

thinks hard I don't think a single a wizards cats a spell one time…. The one ring is evil. Evil is pertrayed as evil. I don't think I can say as much for Iron man. There is evil in the world. We can't espace that LOTR shows evil as evil and good as good. I think the bible warns against other sins that r not taken so seriously (like crude joking, language, etc.) much more than whitchcraft. And like I said LOTR portrays it as evil. :) I gtg now. :)

You explain it so good Dani! yeah… Gandalf doesn't really cast many spells and they aren't crystal balls, they are palantirs and they're like cell phones. only… more round. :) used to communicate. and the ring can't be used for good at all, even by good people. it's kind of the embodiment of evil. and invisiblility is like a superpower! superpowers are awesome! not witchcraft! nothing in LotR is witchcraft cuz witchcraft is "the practice of magic, esp. black magic; the use of spells and the invocation of spirits."

Okay, I've got to come in. Look, witchcraft as the Bible explains it is the use (or attempted use) of evil supernatural beings to do supernatural things. It's man trying to advance himself by using means other than the ones that God has allowed him to use. We as humans on Earth are not allowed to practice witchcraft or magic because we are not allowed to do things that we were not created to do; it goes against God's purpose. In LOTR, it's much different. Gandalf, Saruman, Radagast, the Elves, etc. were all BORN with certain powers in their "genetic code" (like Thor, for example). Them using those powers is like us using our ability to employ technology to fly, communicate over long distances, etc. It is not wrong for them to do that, because their creator gave them those abilities to use for good. However, some of them, like Saruman, began using them for evil. That's wrong, and it's portrayed as wrong. So, that's my case for LOTR. I don't think that the Wizards, the Elves, or whoever else, using powers with which they were born is wrong at all.

Actually I am not allowed to watch Iron Man because of the sexual content. And the Bible does warn (especially in the old testament) against witchcraft. But as far as crude joking goes, you are right. Ephesians 5:1-4

I like DC and Marvel heroes! (I've seen all three Batmans, Superman, and Green Lantern, along with all the Avengers movies except Iron Man 3 [and certain parts of the first two Iron Man movies])

I've seen most of batman begins it's awesome!!! :) I don't like scarecrow though.. :P he's scarey. I definately recommend it though.

I wanted to reply to this. There are a lot of bad R rated movies, and there are a lot of G,PG,and PG-13 rated movies that are evil. Not all R rated movies are bad. For example, my favorite movie, The Patriot, (although rated R, but just for war violence) has Christian themes, prayer, church-going, forgiveness, love throughout the movie. And as you said earlier, (in reference to LOTR) Evil is portrayed as evil, and Good is portrayed as good.

you would watch a Deadpool movie? He is vulgar, irreverent, blood-thirsty, and crude.

Oh no I wasn't saying all R movies r bad it's just I don't exactly have a stomach for the gore etc. even when it is a good movie. :)

And there's the R-rated movie "The Passion of the Christ" as well. That's horribly violent, but so was Jesus' death! I think that's one of the best, if not the best, R-rated movies out there. :)
