Wow! That's really good :)

Hi everyone.
Cow
Hi, Everett! Your brother placed first in Primaries, right? And you placed seventh :) that's awesome :)
Anna Mieczkowski
I have around 160-170 done. By done, I don't mean memorized, just being able to say them without the card. I do think that it takes probably around a week's time to actually get a verse memorized just for solidifying and such. I am planning to get all the long passages done by the end of this week. (By "long", I mean any longer than like 7 or 8 lines). My reasoning behind this is that I really don't like long passages - they're harder for me to memorize…so I'm saving the best for last:)
Everett C.
Thanks :) Actually, my brother's friend placed first. He got fifth.
Cow
Yep…one sixth done…but 5/6 to go :) I placed fifth in Juniors :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
That's great!
2 Corinthians 5:17
WOW! Good for you! :D
Cow
Oh, ok :) you can never really tell with only the cities on there and all :)
His Servant
Great! Yeah, I don't have all those word perfect, but I'm working on that this afternoon. Huh…I should take your approach! The longest are the hardest for me, but I still memorize the shorter ones first. My reasoning is, that since I'll have them all memorized by the end of September, it doesn't matter if I have the long ones done sooner than the short ones – as long as I have them all well memorized by Nationals, I'll be happy!
Everett C.
You all like the shorter passages? Longer passages are way way easier for me.
Cow
Me too! I can never remember how to start the small ones :) so I'm memorizing all the long ones first :)
His Servant
For sure, Everett! Remembering references is not a problem for me, but remembering what the verses say in the long passages, is another story :)
Anna Mieczkowski
I actually got the idea to memorize all the verses by the end of Sep., too. I think I got it from Hannah L., but maybe I saw that you were doing it, too, and figured than I could as well:) It's going to take such a load off our backs, though, and give us more time to be devoted to the written test.
Oh, we haven't talked in sooo long - it will be amazing to see you at Nationals!
2 Corinthians 5:17
I'm just in awe of you all…memorizing 750 verses in 1 month?! Wow!
His Servant
That's great! You'll have to keep me updated on how it goes!! I know – I'm looking forward to the time when I won't have to memorize….just reviewing and working on Ephesians!
I know – it's been ages since we last talked! I'm looking forward to seeing you all as well!!

2 Corinthians 5:17
Anna: Yes, I hope we come to Nationals! :D
His Servant
How many are you going to have to do a day to get done by the end of Sep.? I have to do 28.
Anna Mieczkowski
@ Rachel - Oh, but it is the most worthy cause ever. And just this morning I was memorizing 1 Corinthians 12:7-27 this morning…..read verses 22-27. They are kinda just what I want to say right now:) And Rachel, it is only by God's strength. I have been realizing so much how we cannot rely on our own strength….right, guys? Haven't we been seeing this in our studying?
@ Bethany - Yes, I'll let you know how it goes, but I am limiting myself to one check of the Memverse forums/Quizlet per day, so no gurantees:)
Cow
Yes, definitely :) there is no way I could ever have even endured until Locals, were it not for God and His strength :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
Anna: Amen! "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!"
His Servant
@anna – Totally. I pray every morning before I start memorizing that the Lord would give me the strength to do it each day. When I forget to do that, I can tell that those are my worst memorizing days. It's only when we rely on the LORD'S strength that we can do this!
You can always shoot me an e-mail :)
Anna Mieczkowski
I calculated it being 25 - strange that we came up with a different number.
2 Corinthians 5:17
"Totally. I pray every morning before I start memorizing that the Lord would give me the strength to do it each day. When I forget to do that, I can tell that those are my worst memorizing days. It's only when we rely on the LORD'S strength that we can do this!" Ditto!!
Anna Mieczkowski
Yes, maybe I'll do that::)))
Anna Mieczkowski
Rachel - LOVE IT!!!! Where do you find those verse picture things? They are gorgeous!
Amen!
Anna Mieczkowski
Need to go….bye, everyone! Praying for all of us that we would be desire to know Him more, to love Him more, and be consumed with Him…..

I just don't want you all thinking I am special or something…:)
Margaret Eddy
I have to disagree. You are special… just not any more than the rest of us.
You are not special because of what you are, but because of what God has made you.
There is nothing special in what you have ever done, but what God has done for you and through you.
There is one way in that you are different than the rest of us, though: thousands of people across the nation are watching your family to see if you fight the fight, finish the race, and keep the faith. Because of your position as part of the family of the hosts of the National Bible Bee, you have a much larger circle of influence than most (if not all) of us, whom you will impact by your actions or words. That is a wonderful but very scary thing. So we pray for you and your family with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit because we know that you cannot do it on your own strength; you need God's help: to be filled with the Spirit, to have the power of Christ, and to put on the armor of God that having done all you can stand.
Now I promise I that won't give you any more long-winded lectures as long as I don't hear any more of this ridiculous nonsense about you not being special! ;)
