Hey, you're supposed to be involved, not sitting on the sidelines! Shame on you! :P JK
biblebee
You do?!?!?!? JK
Hiruko Kagetane
sips lemonade while awaiting Ian's answer
biblebee
Oh, sorry. How do you want me to be involved? :D
biblebee
I thought you were tasting sugar…not lemons!!!! ;-)
SavedByGrace
I dunno. You figure that out. :P Hey, I am! :)
Ian R.2
Sorry, I've always had trouble putting my thoughts into words, and I'm having trouble with that now. I don't know how to say it any better.
SavedByGrace
But remember, I told him to mix the two together. ;)
SavedByGrace
Well, I have the same problem. But do you think that we should do as little of what the world does as possible? If so, why stop at songs like that? Why not get rid of the Internet and all movies?
biblebee
Okay…I'll try to think but it's going to be useless because we aren't going to be able to convince Sam!
Oh yeah…I forgot you told him that…
Hiruko Kagetane
Well, time for me to become Amish! WHERE'S MY SHOVEL?!?!?
biblebee
All things should be done in moderation! If all we can think about is songs, movies, internet, video games, etc… Then we are spending way to much time on it! And we are told to do the things pleasing to the Lord and we need to examine everything we do, watch or listen to is pleasing to the Lord. If it's not then we need to get rid of it!
biblebee
picks up a shovel and hands it to Sam Here you go! :)
EDIT: Also, our lifestyle needs to be showing Christ to the world…if it doesn't we're doing something wrong.
SavedByGrace
Hey, I'm not trying to convince Sam of anything. Actually, I'm not really trying to convince anybody. I just think that we shouldn't be adamantly against something just because the world likes it.
SavedByGrace
Okay. But explain to me how that Lindsey Stirling song is not pleasing to the Lord. It doesn't have any lyrics, so how can it be displeasing to Him?
Hiruko Kagetane
tries to pick up, hits own head instead
Owww……………..
Ian R.2
You're right, but I just realized he answered a question for me. He said just because an unbeliever likes a song why can't he like it either. Well it proves something that I was thinking, it's all in opinion. As long as the song is morally right it doesn't matter what type it is, if you like it it's sugar to you, while a song with a style that you don't like can be sugar for someone else. I hope this makes sense cause I'm still having trouble.
biblebee
I wasn't saying that it was displeasing to the Lord I just said we need to examine what we listen, watch, and do and make sure that it is pleasing to the Lord.
biblebee
fills a bag with ice and hands it to you Here, hold that ice there so you don't get a big lump on your head! :D
SavedByGrace
@Ian–That makes perfect sense! And I agree! :)
@Carissa–Okay, I thought you were referring to that song in particular. I completely agree that we should make sure that everything we do pleases God. :)
Ian R.2
Few! I'm glad you understand!
biblebee
No, I wasn't referring to that song in particular…though my personal opinion of that song is that I do NOT like it!
biblebee
I agree, Ian!
Hiruko Kagetane
Paul said as much, I think it was Romans, when he was talking about the eating of meats offered to idols. For the weaker brother, it would be sin, as it violates his conscience, but for the stronger, even though he can, it would be sin for him to do it in front of the weaker brother, or to talk down on the weaker brother for not being as strong as him. That's basically what you're trying to say, right?
SavedByGrace
Okay, as long as you aren't saying it's wrong, but that it's just your opinion. :) There are a lot of people who won't admit that.
SavedByGrace
Dude, of course it was Romans! Pastor preached on that, what, less than three months ago?? :P
biblebee
No, I'm not saying that it is wrong. You do have to remember I've only listened to 3 seconds of it ;-)
Hiruko Kagetane
Yes, it was. And I was berating myself for not being sure if it was chapter 12 or 14.
SavedByGrace
Hey, you should listen to the whole thing! ;D If you don't die before the end. :P
SavedByGrace
sigh It's fourteen, Sam.
biblebee
Yes, it was. And I was berating myself for not being sure if it was chapter 12 or 15.
Uhhhhhhhhhhh…………that's in Romans 14
Ian R.2
Um….. I'm having trouble understanding what you just said. Sorry.
biblebee
I don't think I could that!! That would be torture!!!
Hiruko Kagetane
Look back! That's what I said! ;)
SavedByGrace
Like putting me through a two hour piano concert? Nah, just kidding. I'd probably be okay with that. :)
biblebee
He saying the same thing as you are saying…just in different wording. It's all (mostly) opinion of people!
SavedByGrace
Riiiiiight, Sam… :P
Hiruko Kagetane
You're not the only one who has trouble expressing their feelings over the Interwebs. Which is why if I have to have a serious talk with someone, I talk to them in person. Let's just say that I agreed with you.
SavedByGrace
Aw, I gotta go. It's been great talking with you all! :)
Ian R.2
Yes that's what I was saying. Thanks for clarifying that Carissa!
Hiruko Kagetane
Yes, look back to my original post!
biblebee
I could be okay with that but I don't think I could sit for a two hour piano concert!!!!!
Hiruko Kagetane
Aw. L8R!
SavedByGrace
It's weird, it's almost the exact opposite with me. I cannot articulate when talking to someone in person–I do much better over the Internet for some reason. :P
biblebee
Bye Nicolas!! Great talking with you!
Ian R.2
Bye SBG!
BTW, If I disappear suddenly without warning, don't be surprised.
biblebee
I can't express myself correctly when talking face to face with people. It's so much easier expressing myself when I write it out.
biblebee
Have you asked your mom yet, Sam?
Hiruko Kagetane
Raw emotion works for me. Oh well. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
Ian R.2
I actually do better at typing, but if someone's waiting for me to respond within like five minutes, I have trouble and I can't type the words correctly.
