Well, you were jealous that I was displeased with Sam…now I'm displeased with you. You shouldn't jump to conclusions.

I know that…but there's also the other meaning to it. And I was asking what he was calling a straw man that he wanted you to stop.

Yes, negative perfectionists are tiring. We tire ourselves. However, people who are too optimistic and non-perfectionists also frustrate people around them. They never are prepared, show up on time, get their job done properly, and, most frustrating of all, they don't even seem to care. What I have noticed makes the most people happy at once –instead of one extreme or the other– is a born perfectionist trying to relax, or a natural at being laid back striving for excellence. So, in other words, what would be best is: a perfect balance.

I believe I agree with all of that. :)

Maybe they meant "debate" not argue?
Is this really a fruitful subject? Remember Ephesians 4:29! ;)

Okay…lol. :P Maybe you could exercise your brains positively. People who really have a good argument never have to get heated or call people names. Just sayin'

I'm not really sure of which comment in this whole conversation to quote, but…

@Ian & @Carissa: I have a few ideas for songs that we might convince Carissa to listen to… "Blessings" by Laura Story, "Untitled Hymn" by Chris Rice, "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe, or "Worn" by Tenth Avenue North. I don't really consider these songs as rock or pop style. They are definitely contemporary, but @Carissa, if you like any contemporary songs, you'll like these. BTW all of the songs that I mentioned are favorites of mine. The only thing is I'm not sure how you would find them…

Those are great songs (well, I'm not familiar with all of them, but I like the ones I do recognize!).
And speaking of songs….is anyone else listening to Christmas music yet? :P

Also, concerning this whole ongoing conversation, I have to say that though I have not listened to any links that anybody has posted, I know the styles, and I am a fan of both. I like them pretty much equally. There are styles within classical that I don't like as much, and styles within contemporary that I don't care for. Overall, though, I enjoy the classics and contemporary music pretty much the same. So I'm not taking sides, but I do think that all of you should tone it down on how much you don't like the other person's style. @Sam - Some of the songs I listed on the previous page you could call "lullabies". Also, a lot of what Carissa likes is NOT "lullaby" style. Okay? :)

BTW guys - All of what I'm saying is in love, and I don't want anyone to think otherwise. Thanks for reading what I have to say. :)
