I made a thread… then deleted it. I will post again if I have one question answered. What happens when you first make a new thread?

When you make a new thread you have to make a comment about what's it about. Once you post it it becomes a topic. You are automatically subscribed to it, but you can unsubscribe. There's not much more to it. :)

Dose that mean you get an email about it?

If you're subscribed you get an email every time someone posts on it. I immediately unsubscribed from the topics I created when I found out about this. :)

So if you unsubscribe right away you don't ever see anything about it on your email? Not even something that says "you created such-and-such a thread at this time." ?

You don't get an email for making a thread. You only get an email if you are subscribed to it. You'll at least get one email cause you have to post before you unsubscribe though. :)

There's nothing wrong about getting an email. It's not like people are going to find out what your email is. :)
