she turns and you finally get a good look at her. She smiles, and holds out her hand. In it is a small gold ring, covered in a leafy design. Mechanically you hold out your hand and she gives it to you. It is warm in your numb palm, but as you look up to ask what it is, you realize that the lady is gone, and you are alone in the air, and rising higher all the time. Then…

you continue rising slowly into the air. But then suddenly you stop. You look around and see…..

that you are in the clouds, right at sunset. Everything is flushed with a soft pink light, and the clouds look solid enough to step on. You notice that they even look like stairs, and on a whim, you place one foot on the lowest step. As you shift forward you realize that it supports your weight, and soon you are racing up the long long staircase two steps at a time. There seems to be no end, but suddenly…

as you place your foot on one step it breaks beneath your weight. You start to fall but you are able to pull yourself back up. You continue up going cautiously this time. You look back to see an endless staircase of clouds. But as you are walking and not looking where you are going you suddenly run into something. You look up and…..

realize you are standing against a giant book. It completely blocks the path; it is so big you can't even see the top, and the letters are each as big as your hand. They also stick out from the book, and you realize it could be used as a ladder. reaching up as high as you can, you grab hold of an "e" and hoist yourself up, placing your foot inside a "c". You hold the gold ring in your teeth so you can use both hands for climbing. After some time, you grab a "y" which breaks off in your hand. You're momentarily thrown off balance, but manage to recover. That's when you look at the place the letter came from, and realize it's a hole. Peering through it, you see…

A giant land where everything is made of flowers, the sun is a flower, the clouds are flowers, the bugs are flowers, everything! You step through the hole and fall into the flowers. But instead of falling onto them you fall through them and land…….

Duck to avoid being skewered by his talons, which are glinting menacingly in the sun. You feel them brush over your back as you fall on your face, and the next thing you know you're lifted into the air, and born with incredible rapidity towards a dark snow covered mountain. The bird drops you on a high ledge, and you lay shivering, wishing you'd brought your coat, and cover your ears as the great creature takes off again, emitting the same whistle that you heard before–much more terrifying when it comes from only a few feet above your head. As the cry ceases, the sun goes down behind the mountain, and your ledge is suddenly wrapped in silent gloom. There is a dry rustling sound…

…and a polar bear suddenly jumps out of the snow a few feet behind you! It charges at you, teeth bared, but you smash your bony fist into its face, killing it instantly. Hoping there aren't any environmentalists around, you come up with a brilliant idea: skin the bear and take its fur to use as a coat, and use its meat to use as food in case you aren't able to find any other food for a while–which is looking quite likely, considering how remote of a place it is you are in. You proceed to do this, and in about an hour you walk away with a nice fur coat and a load of bear meat. You stumble across the snowy mountain, trying to find a safe way down, when suddenly…

You break a few pieces of bone off of your exterior (if this is confusing to anyone, look back a little and you'll understand ;) ), and form a pickaxe with them.
