A Video for our BB Friends :)
Started by ElizabethElizabeth
These are so awesome and I can definitely relate. Especially the friends, saving verse cards, and tshirts. :D The verse cards one reminded me of how I was going through different papers + things and came across the chart that was my faithful companion of keeping track of verses memorized…and I couldn't throw it away yet. ;) Thanks so much for sharing!! We had a running list of ideas throughout these months and tried to narrow it down. One that didn't make the cut was one about how I took a picture of the whiteboard (how I memorize) before/after I initially memorized my last nationals verse card. My brothers weren't sure if anyone else had ever done that before. Haha, probably not. :P Blessings!

I know what you mean…. I have probably about 1000-1500 pages of study materials from both years of BB… Even though i just finished my last year, I can bring myself to throw any of it away! It means so much even if it's just a bunch of papers with really hurried and bad handwriting!
But hey, we're already getting things set up to come down to Orlando next year! I have a sister who'll hopefully be competing and although it's a long story, we already have four free plane tickets to Orlando we won through a national film contest that we have to book by the end of this year…. Perfect, isn't it! ;)

To your last sentence, Elizabeth: you know you're in Bible Bee when you dread your eighteenth birthday rather than anticipate it. ;)
Elizabeth
@Jordan: That's so awesome that your family has 4 free tickets! We were realizing that Sevierville is now the halfway point of a roadtrip to Orlando…oh well. :) Your sister should definitely compete - I've loved all of their articles in KBR, etc, and would love to meet them. =) Wasn't one of your sisters something like 2 hours too old to compete this year? Ah, that would be so hard!!
@Tori: Ah, YES, definitely!!
Marie Morris
I did things like that!!!
2 Corinthians 5:17
That's exciting!!

How about this one?
"If you refer to things as Junior blue instead of navy blue, you might be in Bible Bee"

How 'bout some for parents? :-)
You know your children are in Bible Bee when…
You dread to ask them to do something as simple as changing the laundry during the months June through November.
All you hear from them for weeks is numbers and statistics taken from studying and the Bible Bee website.
You are got up early every June 1st morning by hearing feet pounding up the stairs to wake you up to open the Bible Bee box.
They ask you to quiz them on their verses about ten times a day.
Mommy's Helper
For the Primary Written Test, they said you could wear watches.
We ( the kids) all wanted to, but Dad wouldn't let us stay up until midnight to open our box. :(
Mommy's Helper
That's awesome, Marie, and we're grateful for your quizzing/tests! =) That last one is coming around the corner for me, too... *tear* Blessings!
I'm not exactly getting there yet (still 8 years to go) but I think they should have an "Old Explorers" group!
Ian R.2
That last one hit me right here . puts hand on chest :P
Here's one (personal experience)
If someone asks you to recite Ephesians 6:13-18, and you ask if you could start at verse 10, you might be in Bible Bee. :)
Elizabeth
@Marie: Okay, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. :)
@Zach: Haha, yes! =)
@Courtney: LOVED reading your ideas - super creative and relatable!
@Hannah: Yes, that would be fun to have an alumni bee! And, wow, there would be quite the intense competition going on :)
@Ian: YES!! I can definitely relate!! =)
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
You see someone in the Semis and immediately think, "She was the one who gave me a glittery red pencil with 'North Pole, Alaska' printed on it at 2009 Nationals!" (Yes, Dani M., I'm referring to you. :-) )
I re-met Katherine Forster in line for processionals last year, and that's who she remembered me as! XD
You know, next year at Nats, we should all get together and make a video about the BB!

The three younger kids participated at a VBS everyone recoils in shock last summer, and Rachel was one of the two kids picked to recite small excerpts from Ephesians 6:10-17. She just recited the whole passage without batting an eye! I think the other kid should have gone first…

You know your in the BB when you remember how each of your BB cards perished from over use.
2 Corinthians 5:17
You know you're in Bible Bee if you take your BB study materials Every. Where. You. Go. Even if you don't end up doing anything with them whilst away :P
You might be in Bible Bee if you have a story behind where you memorized different passages. (I was in the parking lot of Home Depot when I memorized Acts 10:38-43)

You know you're in Bible Bee when you remember last year's Bible Bee verses better than non-Bible-Bee verses you memorized this year.

So true! I always take my BB cards and stuff everywhere, but then I hardly ever end up using it. :-P :-)

Oh… Well… We think it makes it more suspenseful this way…! You've got to understand, we're both spies and cryptologists, so what difference does it make?!
We took a personality test the other day and our results were almost exactly the same… So I think it's valid for us to both use the same account!
Also, I don't have the time to be a full-time "memverser"..
But, But, But… Those of you who were at the church service on Sunday know that I left if open-ended……………… Just as I do here……………………………..
2 Corinthians 5:17
Was that test online? =D

Hey, Jordan, I feel really guilty about not saying hi to you at the celebration ceremony…. : |

Sir Walter (Jimmy)
Wow! That was great (and all of it so true). Thanks for sharing, Hannah! :)
Sarah B.
Thank you for sharing that with us! The Martins did a really good job! ;) The first thing my siblings said when they saw it was, “We should do a part 3!!!” but that is ridicules since we have never been to Nationals! :P THANKS SO MUCH!
biblebee

Sarah B.
I speak for my siblings: YEAH! THEY (Carissa's family) SHOULD DO THAT!!!!
biblebee
